Skille won't come back next year. He was an excellent hard-nosed sniper for us in limited minutes, but we've never given him a shot despite his goals, so he'll just sign somewhere where they'll play him.

It's sort of like the Nick Holden situation. Columbus didn't give him a chance and he signs in Colorado, and now has 6G, 9A in 36 games.
I could see Skille signing with us again if he is given a 1 way contract and depending on who comes/doesn't come back. Jarmo said Skille has proven that he should be in the NHL so I can see him attempting to bring him back. But it all depends on if Columbus is bringing(these players wants to return) Comeau and Mackenzie(UFA's). Along with Frattin and Tropp(RFA's). If all these guys come back then there is no room for Skille. But if majority of these guys don't return, there is room for Skille in bottom 6.

Also, would you rather have Skille or Chaput on the roster? Chaput played well in his short stint here. I would say Skille and Chaput would be one of the first call up's.

I'm fine with swapping Calvert and Atkinson for next game.

The lines I really want to see?

Jenner-Johansen-Horton
Foligno-Anisimov-Skille
Comeau-Dubinsky-Atkinson
Calvert-Letestu-Mackenzie

I'm not huge on tonight's lines, I thought we had better chemistry a couple games back.

Edit: Whoops, forgot Umberger.

Interesting. As a neutral observer who hasn't watched nearly the number of Columbus games as you guys, I did watch yesterday and I thought Calvert was one of the best players on the ice for you.

It's a bit unconventional scratching a guy and then putting him on the first line, but here's what I'd like to see:

Jenner - Johansen - Atkinson
Foligno - Anisimov - Umberger
Calvert - Dubinsky - Horton
Tropp - Letestu - Mackenzie

I think Jenner could really open up some space for Atkinson. Johansen and Atkinson have shown some good chemistry before.

We would lack a "shutdown" line which would really bother Richards, but
I feel comfortable in our #2 and #3 lines getting the job done.

#CBJ D Nikita Nikitin skated again today. Said he is ready to return to lineup vs #Stars on Monday.

It just feels wrong to reward Anisimov's current hot streak by saddling him with Umberger....

Question: How did Tropp get an assist on the goal, last night? Didn't Arty take the puck away from a Pred on the wall, bring it into the zone, drop it to Wiz, get it back and score? When did Tropp touch the puck?

Unconventional maybe but not a bad thought. I agree the line combo gives Atkinson the best chance for space.......might think about flipping Horton and Umby.

I want Johansen, Foligno, and Jenner stuck together like glue.

I like the trio but it seems tough to first take away Gabby and then take away Filigno from Anisimov, especially when he has been our best goal scorer since the break.

Tropp was in the corner and played it up the boards. Arty lifted the stick of the Predator to start the break. It was one of those secondary assists that didn't have a lot to do with the scoring.

No confirmation yet, but reasonable to think #CBJ G Curtis McElhinney makes first start since Jan. 28 on Monday vs. #Stars.

Tim Thomas the likely starter for Dallas. Kari Lehtonen suffered head injury and was knocked out of win over Minnesota on Saturday. #CBJ

Starting McElhinney doesn't give me a confident feeling, but I suppose Bob has to be given a break occasionally.

I was kind of hoping to see Ellis again.

I think Umberger has been better than Horton recently.

The past few games, Umbie hasn't been his traditional "3rd liner with hands of stone" but has been able to catch, handle, and skate with the puck.

He's controlling the puck MUCH better than he was at the beginning of the season and is actually creating chances. Plus, Anisimov doesn't really need help, he kinda just scores all by himself (with some assistance from the defense in transition). Foligno and Umberger can dig the puck out for him. Plus, it's not a half bad line in the defensive zone either.

Atkinson is scratched again. Nikita is a game time. Per twitter

Unfortunately, we won't be facing Dan Ellis again because he's in Florida now. :(

They play the next day against the Wings which is a HUGE game. If Bob plays tomorrow and Tuesday it would be 3 games in 4 nights. I'm guessing Richards is thinking a rested Bob against the Wings is better then a tired Bob. Although it would suck if McElhinney has a poor game tomorrow which costs them the game and then we lose to Detroit. It would mean resting Bob tomorrow would have been for nothing.

I really don't get the Mcelhinney hate. I really don't. I can't think of one game he's cost us.

What a win! I was at the game and if you saw a guy in a David Vyborny third jersey 1.0 that was me.

I have nothing negative to say about Nashville and their fans. They are the real deal when it comes to hockey and they were all super nice. I got a lot of handshakes and congratulations on my way out. I told them I was glad they weren't in our division anymore. Their arena is a gem too. I'm really glad I don't know what it's like in their barn when the home team scores.

I remembered my experience with jerk Penguins, Sabres, and Red Wings fans so I was the nicest visiting fan possible. I ddin't gloat too long when Arty scored and I wasn't obnoxious when it ended.

It was a really fun experience and I hope to go back next season. If you get the chance to see a game in Nashville I highly recommend it.

edit: I talked to Portzline in line for food at 3 am. I was surprised he was still up and at em. He was friendly enough for talking to an intoxicated me at that hour.
