And just like that, another reminder of how clueless I am. Of course I could freeze it! Thanks

I bought it twice from Costco, pre grated.

One time my kid put it in the pantry for 2 days (just like he does with kraft, didn't think to tell him), it was all moldy.

Bought another container of it, not even 3 weeks later in the fridge it was full of mold.

I could definitely freeze it though.
I think there’s something wrong with your fridge.

I’ve been buying Costco Parmesan and I bring it back from Italy when i can and it’s NEVER gone bad and this on a 15yr sample in 3 different fridges.

I think I achieved spiritual ascension eating some cinnamon raison toast with butter the other morning. I understand, it's the simple things.
Cinnamon raison toast made me the man I am today

My parents used to buy the Kraft crap and when i moved out I promised myself to never eat it or buy it again!!!
Wholefoods can give a healthy portion of grated parmesan even though it is a bit pricey. Well worth it though, it can last multiple dishes.

One of the staples. I also like Brie for toasted sandwiches, a good old Cheddar with crackers and danish blue cheeze with a fresh baggette. None of it has one of those crappy brand names that have been decimating cheese for ages.
Quality post here. Thank you mate !!

No, not grated... You need the block. This way the outside is the only thing that grows mold, all you have to do is cut it away.

You get what you pay for…..buy a cheap steak, better get a chainsaw, buy cheap electronics, better get the extended warranty, buy cheap shoes, brace yourself for a sore back.

Love wholefoods, quality food!!

I put disgusting amounts of parmesan on my pasta
I just tried those boneless short ribs from Costco — they taste amazing. Since they’re on sale gotta buy and freeze a few more.

Only mistake I made was putting too much coarse salt — I should have been less liberal.
