They won’t do it, as much as I wish they would. That’s the price you pay to go out of your way to bring in some much-needed “veteran presence”. If only Thornton would take himself out, but again, that won’t happen either. And to be perfectly honest, if that was me, I don’t think I would either.
But they should at least take him off the PP, or at least put him on PP2.
I hope he retires. I can’t stand him anymore and he’s destroyed my faith in Keefe also

Sandin needs to come out for Dermott. Thornton needs to come out for Brooks. The latter probably won't happen because he's Jumbo but I'm confident we end this series. Montreal cannot get that lucky again, they basically hit the lotto last game lol. Sandin gave them 2 freebies and then we all know what happened with Galchenyuk at the end. No way they get 3 goals gift wrapped again. Leafs need to come out strong and put them out of their misery.

Well, in a normal situation, I think there would be a good amount of Leafs fans in the stands. However, given there were only 2 500 tickets available and that they were sold to season tickets holder in priority, I doubt there will be any left. Maybe a handful who will buy tickets from scalpers, but that's it!

We'll hear faint chants going back and forth, lol. Better than nothing I guess.

Bottom line is if we can't get it done against this Habs team, there will have to be some significant changes.

I still believe these boys can win in 6.

If it goes 7, I'm not quite sure we can overcome that mental hurdle.

Just make all of our lives easier and get it DONE tomorrow night boys.

It's not luck if they turn the puck over. The result of the last game was self inflicted, luck had nothing to do with it.

Limit the mistakes for game 6 and play the same way and we should win the game. Three out of the four goals they scored in Game five were assisted from us. Also swap out Sandin for Dermott, not gonna dump on Sandin because he's a rookie but can't make those mistakes in the playoffs as it costs you goals.

They also need to swap out Jumbo on PP 1 for Nylander, It just makes no sense keeping our best player in the series off the top powerplay unit. Lastly, score on our chances, the Leafs had multiple grade A chances to score and haven't. You can't allow a team to stay in the game by not finishing the game, if they go up 2-0 on MTL by finishing the grade A chances, MTL is done.

I've lost all faith we can close out this series. Don't mind me just a beaten down Leaf fan been supporting since mid 80's.

It's a 3-2 series for US. Game 5 was an OT loss where Gally broke the habs out for a 2 on 0. Have faith. They won't get that lucky again. Sandin gave them 2 goals in game 1 and then 2 goals again last night + 1 for Gally. They can't generate anything on their own, i'm not worried.

I can imagine some Habs fans don’t really believe in their team (they really need a rebuild) and can make a hugh profit by reselling their tickets. And Leafs fan wanting to witness a potential round won, might pony up the price. We will see.

Not to mention that most of their fan base want us to win so that Bergevin will finally get canned, lol.

My favourite are people who play both sides of the fence. Forever complaining then wanna cheer when we win. Can’t have it both ways. You either believe in this team or you don’t. Make your choice now

Agreed. Like if you've already demanded a player be traded, no cheering for that player.

Which means everyone trashing Marner now can't cheer for Nylander, because I'm pretty sure they were trashing him when he had playoff struggles.

I feel ya, I feel ya. It's a struggle of my reasonable side and my Leafs fan-ness right now

The difference between this series and past failures is that we have usually been the underdog. This time we have the better team, even with JT and Foligno out of the lineup. That means something.

The only way we lose this series is if we beat ourselves by losing our composure.

The issue I see viewing some of the other series is the lack of intensity from this group.
Getting by the Habs should be a given but the way they are going about it is troubling. They are far from looking explosive and dominant. Some of the most boring hockey I have ever seen in playoff action. From early analysis, no way we can beat those teams down south unless there is a dramatic reversal in their play. There just seems to be a lack of fire with this team.

Lurking at the pre game thread over on the Habs forum, those dudes are not confident at all in winning on Saturday.

Meanwhile, we are freaking out!

Hope they don't get too rattled by the fans at the Bell Centre. They already seem mentally vulnerable right now. Having failed to close out a series in 19 years and counting. Losing every elimination game with this core. And so on.
