A loss is a loss, however you'd have to be smoking something strong to think Bussi gives you close to the same chance as Ullmark. I'm also willing to give the guy a break with his groin injury last year, which if anything shows the importance of a good tandem, but it's not his fault the coach didn't go with Swayman when he visibly looked off.

I cant imagine this place if we lost in the playoffs with Bussi in net after trading one of Sway/Ullmark.

Come offseason I'm all for getting rid of one of the two though.

So even if you give him a break for one bad playoff due to an unconfirmed injury, what’s the excuse for the previous season.

Better yet, how many more post seasons runs are we going to “give him a break” on regardless of injury or just poor overall performance. He’s already at two blown postseasons.

Are we just going to keep kicking that can down the road?

Do you mean the previous season where he played 2 playoff games? Maybe you consider 8 games a large enough sample to decide if a guy is good or not and enough to override his 90 solid regular season games, but I don't, especially when it is clear the caliber of goalie he is capable of being.

There's not even a guarantee he is the starter over Swayman this year come playoff time, but either way he's a hell of an insurance policy.

Anyone know if anyone aside from Bedard played last night? EPSN was going hard for the kid.

Even the interview between benches Marchand's asked about Bedard.

Seriously felt like 40% of the game call was about Bedard, 15% about the Hawks rebuilding, 25% random chit chat, then the rest they maybe called the game.

Ferarro was right about one thing though, holy the B's Powerplay is embarrassing to watch

Glad Lauko's ok. That was scary & guy can't seem to catch a break

great roadie, clearly still a ton of wrinkles to iron out here, so many new faces in the lineup so it`s not surprising play has looked a bit , almost confused at times watching from my couch. PP is a mess, had Bergy for so long in that bumper and Ferraro did make a great point last night that Bergy was a RH and Zacha a lefty, almost wondering if the play has to start along the left wing wall rather than RW?

Either way, Poitras better get a real estate agent unless he`s gonna stay in Marchand`s basement suite, surely they won`t or can`t send him back now

imagine being a fan of another team that hates the bruins. Thinking finally those f***ers are toast. and here comes Matt f***ing Poitras.

Lol
Of course it is early- but thank GOD for Matty Poitras. Losing two generational centers would criple any team. So fortunate to have this kid.

agreed, look at a team like the Pens as one who`ll be next up when it comes to trying to replace Gino and Sid in the not so far distant future. There simply isn`t a succession plan for replacing future HOF candidates.

Zacha does not look good on the PP so far, that said it must be quite a change going from right handed Bergy in the bumper all those years to Zacha. A few games ago Marchy gave the puck to the bumper in a perfect spot for a one timer....had he been right handed. Hopefully it's just a bit of a learning curve.

You do have to go thru the RS to make the PO and given the uncertainty of this year
you can't blame them for sticking with the remaining strength of the team...its tending.

You realize you can always lose a trade? If you lose a Ullmark\Swayman deal you probably have put yourself in a DNQ position.

Should they consider resting Marchand down the stretch in February and March, even if the undefeated season is still in play?

:sarcasm:
I love Marchand in a mother goose role.

Pp needs a quarterback. Love Mcavoy but he is not great with the puck on offence. He seems uncomfortable with it to me.
