Your arrogance is truly something, and it's quite unfortunate because you're clearly capable of having informed discussion on this board but the tone of your posts makes engaging with you not worthwhile.

In the same sentence you call him a 1C and then say he's being rushed. If you don't see how this is incredibly oxymoronic I don't know what to say

I see you're taking the turtle route @MMC . Now that's arrogance, which you seem to be projecting onto me. Projection is your thing, isn't it? Wasn't expecting that from you. Since you turtled, it means you'll do every mental gymnastics to avoid being called out. Here's another example of you getting things wrong to prove your point.

If you quote me, then quote me correctly. I said, "Part-time 1C". Maybe you don't understand Carlsson is missing games due to load mgmt, not injury. "Part-time 1C" sounds oxymoronic, but that is the case.

I'm okay with Carlsson being a "part-time 1C" b/c that's what Verbeek wants. Carlsson will be adapting to NHL ice, play, and physicality while developing physically. Verbeek is looking to next year where Carlsson is a full-time 1C for the whole season.

I wonder what Carlsson does during the morning skates. Is he just working out in the weight room? Do visiting teams even have access to weight rooms in other buildings?

They are messing with his psyche its not right.. They kept him in the NHL to play and now they are telling him we don't want you playing x amount of games.. This still doesn't make sense to me..

I thought it was reported that the plan was discussed and agreed to by both Carlsson and his agent prior to its implementation. I think the only psyches they're messing with are ours.

They had discussions with him and his agent as to what would be best for his development this year. Nowhere was it stated that a guy who pretty clearly needs to put on about 20# of muscle would play an 82 game NHL schedule.

Pretty clearly based on his height, frame, and weight.

His body being able to put on 20lbs of muscle does not equal him needing to put on muscle so badly where he needs to sit out games to hit the gym.

If he was getting tossed around out there sure, but he's not. Not even close.

he doesn’t “need to” do anything. It’s about his development though and what’s best for his future to become an impact player. Sure you could just say f*** it and have him play all 82 - many teams have done that in the past

I personally think that what the Ducks are doing is going to be very common place around the league 5 years from now - it just makes sense

Him “not being tossed around” isn’t actually accurate. He’s not bulling through people, and he’s actually been knocked off balance/off the puck quite a few times. Being too light also increases the chances of injury.

Most if not all NHL players lose weight over the course of the season. He’s 18, meaning that he’s not done growing, meaning that there will be an even bigger deficit next year if they don’t work on it now. You can only put on so much muscle in an off season unless you’re using one of a number of banned chemicals.

I got a picture with him at fan fest - I’m 6’3”, and he was taller than me, has a larger frame, and weighs significantly less than where I was when I played Division 1 soccer.
