I asked this a couple of weeks ago: would you be happy with wins if the other team has 5 accidental self goals and the Rangers win, even though they played like doo doo? Obviously that is extreme, but the idea is what is it that you want as a fan? Win at all costs in any fashion or have the team actually be GOOD and win by being better than the other team?

When I think of that I think exceptions like the Stadium Series game where I wouldn't care HOW the Rangers won as long as it wasn't controversial, just get the W. But a game like today, or just in general, I want the team to be good.

I really don't really mind an ugly game from time to time. But actually the Rangers are a good team. They do have their fun nights. There is a reason they are in first place. Offense, defense, goalie, all working well. Could use some tweaking for the playoffs but I am happy with win at all costs.

I think every fighter in the league wants to fight Rempe like some sort of initiation. I think they're genuinely interested in how he measures up. His word is getting around.

I guess. I think it would still cost us a 2nd at the least.

But what you are saying is true, I do think Drury and co. see him as an asset.
 
Deslauriers is one tough 'ombre, Rempe has one strong ass jaw. What a god damn tilt.

Rempe has definitely put the league on notice, for Nic to march up to the kid like that in warmups - teams know.

Oh and props to Cuylle being 5th overall in the NHL in hits!

Yeah i don't care what happens in the playoffs as long as it's a W. Regular season though, I am entertained by quality. Maybe the NHL is crappy as a whole, I don't know. Rangers aren't bad, they are good, in relation.
 
Was just on the Philly board to see what they thought of the fight as I was shocked some people here thought Rempe lost the fight. Most of them thought Rempe won and someone even said Nic got beat bad.

Watched the fight again and Nic barely touched him. Most of his punches fell short. Rempe has too big of a reach. Nic took him down to end the fight because he was getting beat bad. You can also see from the pregame conversation that his face was clean so Rempe did all that damage.

Who else in the league is going to beat this kid? Wish Chara was still around.

Kakko's skating is not THAT bad that it prevents him from being a good NHL player. He just needs to improve it a bit, and improve the other areas.

He’s been a hockey player for 23 years, and his skating hasn’t gotten any better since he made it to the nhl. I think he is what he is at this point. Which is fine but he’s not going to be a good scorer. Hes not a threat off the rush.

They had enough time to fix his skating...Or does it take many years?
 
Regarding Goodrow it does seem they don't want to buy out contracts anymore. We have had zero dead cap for a couple of seasons and that is weird concidering we are the Rangers.

That’s the best fight i have caught on the ice in real time (well, on tv, seen some good ones in person) i have seen in a long time, LGRempe!

It was an edict from Dolan to stop with the buyouts afaik.
