Not a commentary on those goals, but good chance this is Georgie's last 40 minutes as a Ranger. Hope for his sake he doesn't get chased.
He’s back next year. No team would take him in the past and certainly not now

I haven't done a whole lot of active cheering against the Islanders... ever, really; but behind the Leafs, I would say they're the last team in the league that I want to have playoff success right now. We don't need a dozen other teams trying to copy this garbage.

Lol so they're not trying? C'mon. The team on the other is simply the better team.
So what? The Red Wings played the Lightning today. The Lightning are simply the (far) better team, Detroit didn't look like a bunch of dickless little babies getting their heads stomped in and doing nothing about it.

Use these last few games to evaluate who stays and who goes. If a veteran player mails it in they shouldn’t be on this team going forward.

Panarin has had a few fights and has threw a hit sometimes, so its not like he has not have heart, but seems lazy as of late. Strome can hit when he wants. Well they should just try figure skating if they dont want to hit be hit and battle for the puck.
What does fighting have to do with heart?

They are in playoff form, they're better than us. This will not always be the case. Isles have a long battle ahead, Rangers get to relax and heal up for next season and get better.
I like your optimism but if we are complaining about needing to heal up and relax after a 56 game season with no playoffs we are in trouble if we expect to play the rigors of an 82 game season plus playoffs

This is how the vets come out in 3 must game wins against the Islanders? Only 12-1 over the past 7 periods. Solid.

They have to work for every inch of ice vs the Isles and they refuse to do it. This is the same ghost act they pulled vs the Canes because they didn't want to work.

Every and I mean every islander forward is backchecking and hounding the puck carrier. Isles get the puck and no one is within feet of the puck carrier.

This team has no leadership. These vets should not be wearing any A. Can they give the A to past players?? Pathetic group of vets here. Leadership is a big issue here
It’s absolutely a big issue. What have Zibanejad and Panarin done? Kreider couldn’t even bring himself to suit up for the last two against this team. Would love to know what happened to him. The coach is out coached by Trotz and Brind’Amour’s constantly. He sucks.

and Sullivan, especially

Panarin was known for dropping the gloves in Chicago and Columbus, he's been in a ton of fights, youtube it.
Let me rephrase what not being soft is. It's not dropping the gloves. It's be intrepid to go into the slot, the goalmouth, the dirty scoring areas, not staying against the wall and going cross ice all the time.

I mean, no matter what happens, Quinn isn't going anywhere. We can start counting down his days come next Feb/March when they are out of playoff position. He will be gone by 2022-2023, 2-3 weeks into the season.

if the management is serious about development and making playoffs next season, they need to hire a good coach by the draft day.

The team you are seeing on the ice tonight is not the team that will make the playoffs for the first time in 5 years.

While I do agree that Kreider is probably not the guy who should get the C eventually, saying he lacks leadership because he's injured? C'mon now...

They don't grow on trees but this team needs a ROR type. Maybe Laf turns into that kind of a leader?
We have plenty of skill.

They are not serious about making the playoffs next season because the team they will ice will not be a playoff team. Team may actually be worse in the beginning then they were this year. Seriously, patience, 2022-2023 they will be a playoff team, then solid playoff team for years after. If not, then we are screwed into oblivion.
