It's a bit complicated but...

http://www.nhl.com/ice/standings.htm?season=20132014&type=WC#&navid=nav-stn-conf

As it stands now
Pittsburgh (the higher seeded division winner) would play Philadelphia (the lower seeded wild card team), Boston (lower seeded division winner would play Toronto (higher seeded wild card team) and Tampa Bay-Montreal (2 seed v. 3 seed in ATL division) and NYR-Columbus (2 seed v. 3 seed in MTR division) would be the other series.

Got it... I was actually thinking conference ranking as opposed to playoff seeding and whom plays whom in the playoffs....

I haven't been in the GDTs in a while. But this game was cause to pop back in.

This game, this team - we're seeing something special.

And I reiterate that nothing changes during the streak.

No work tomorrow, stayed up all night (4:30 AM local) to see us get to 8! I hope we can get it to 9 against the lowly Buffalo Sabres, in the past I'd be worried about us playing down to the Sabres' level but Richards has been fantastic keeping the boys attention and getting em up and ready all season but more specifically in the streak. Keep fighting boys, I'm hopin' to go to a couple games when I'm back in Columbus in a couple weeks, been about two years since I've been to the Nat!

This has been a long time coming. I don't wanna go back to losing.

Yeah, 13 years, this is the high moment for me personally as a fan. We are winning, and winning the right way, working hard, good goaltending, scoring goals, everyone seems to be buying in and the results speak for themselves.

I don't care if we lose Saturday, or next week, to be honest I want to see what we do after we lose the first one. The streak has been nice, but it will end eventually, and then I hope we regroup and come back out hard.

The only thing more impressive than a 10 game winning streak is two 8-game winning streaks.

I'm in for that. 2nd place in the Metro and 1st round home ice. We are the 2nd best team in the division, lets get it done.

If I remember correctly, you were ready to give on this team in November.

Half of the people here gave up on the team in November. Go check out the early GDT's and 'Should we blow it up' threads. I often got ridiculed because of my positive outlook and CBJ glasses on.

Saw only the third period (listened to the second on my Sat radio driving home from work) ... really liked what I saw. The team is playing with confidence and everything is clicking.

Congrats to those who have stuck it out for 13 years ... it's been a long time coming, and we all deserve it. Enjoy the ride!

Unfortunately, the last home game before the Olympic break is Feb 1. After that, they don't play at home again until March 1.

We've gotta be one of the few teams (fanbases) that, by and large, doesn't want to make any moves right now.

We're also the only NHL fanbase who has a team on a 8 game winning streak right now. But I'm with you on that one. Don't mess with things.

This team is a very special group of people. We just wore the Flyers down and they are a good team.

Back from game - really turned it on. This game reminds me of a lot of games in past years where the Jackets were on the other end... down early then just went into another gear and laid some wood on the Flyers. Nice to be on the other side of this. That was FUN.

Mason chants: lame. Let it go. Carter deserves razzing, Mason was just an immature kid.

Hard not to like about everything you're seeing now. Everyone is contributing. I was thinking about this team earlier and it's just stronger all the way around than it was 2 years ago. More skill, tougher, more guts, wayyyyy more depth, young guys who can really play, etc. About the only thing I'm seeing that remains an frustration is their attempts to get the puck in and set up on the PP... but hey, quibble quibble.

IDK if there's a captain in there, but if there is one, I think he's it

Right now, it seems like every player on the team is a leader in some way.

Agreed. Razz guys who didn't try or demanded a trade. Mason didn't demand to be traded (openly). He tried to be a starting goalie here and it didn't work out, but at least he put forth effort.
