Remember when we traded Brassard for Zibanejad?

Can we do that type of deal again? We can add the 2nd this time.

The most incredible thing about that trade was that Zibanejad was my legitimate favorite non-ranger player in the NHL at that time. Couldn't believe we got him.

To give themselves a chance in game 6, they're gonna have to volume shoot and try more deflections. Holding the puck looking for the better shot isn't working. Panarin had a chance to shoot a couple of times but held it too long. Same with Fox.
They are done. It was win game 5 or it's over. Florida is better. Lavy will just rearrange the deck chairs on the titanic by sitting Rempe and bringing in Wheeler and make believe like he is doing something useful.

The internet especially AOL to me I always associate with the post-94 Cup, Pamela Anderson, and my friends and I trying to find out updates on the then new RHCP/Metallica albums (which would eventually be One Hot Minute and Load).

Internet is older than the 90s.

Now, pay respect to the OGs!

It's not in their DNA unless they have a eureka moment in the next 48 hours.

Most of this group WILL be back. Wheeler/Gus/Kakko/Wenneberg will not. I doubt Roslovic is unless it's a cheap deal. Trouba who knows.

The key is to add pieces around them that will balance their weaknesses and integrate some rookies.

My guess is room dynamic. The guys LOVED Rempe and it loosened them up. Edstrom they like but he didn't have the same effect. He'll be here this fall PKing.

I really feel like room dynamic unless it's toxic is so utterly overrated. Whenever you hear that a guy's good in the lockrroom it's usually a backhanded compliment about someone who sucks. They were a top team before Rempe ever stepped on the ice. The only argument I can buy is that his play brings energy.

It just got so old. Like Angle always saying it's True. I couldn't stand matches with Triple H/Rock either. Three moves and a million punches.
The best matches of that era were the midcarders like Hardy Boys, Edge and Christian and Dudley Boyz with their TLCs, Jericho, Eddie Guerrero

It's not just the Rangers it's the team they are playing. The Rangers have played hard and are a good team but they are worn down by the constant grinding that Florida is good at. Nothing is going to change unless they score 2 PP goals which is unlikely.

Fox would have brought this offense - huge reason why forwards look so ineffective is unfortunately because there’s close to none of it coming from defense.

Backs against the wall now, I wonder if Laviolette will pull out a radical move and yes calling on Jones would be that. Remove Kakko and Rempe. Add Jones and Wheeler

FWIW I agree with you. If this is the end, Fox is the #1 reason why. And that’s remarkable because he has still been good and their best dman (pretty easy comp set but still). But when your Norris dman isn’t a Norris dman, that’s an almost impossible hole to fill in.

f***ing Lindgren is another one.

Like I want to respect how he puts his body on the line and what not but at the same time, no. You're shortening your life getting hit with pucks and bodies because you have no f***ing talent.

Retire.

But why is Kakko so bad this year. He had a 19 goal/40 point year last year. Basically the same as Laf. Aside from the injury why did one take a big step forward and the other is lost? Kakko can't really be this bad can he? He was the consensus number 2 behind Hughes. I don't get it.

Well, we are going to learn that he was playing on one leg, like McDonagh in 2015.

Plus a lot of other injuries. Dipietro said it today on the radio

Although the numbers and a bit of the anxiety around them was similar, they were always different.

Lafreniere always showed flashes of skill and an uncanny nose for the net. His all-around game needed to catch up to this level and he needed to learn how to compete at this level.

Kakko was a bit of the opposite. He always did everything "right" but just has very little skill and is one of the worst rush players I've ever seen. Frankly, I'm more surprised that he ever scored what he did last year than I am by his results this year. He's a 4th liner in this league.
