The whole St.Louis thing is tragic and can really bring a team together. Great to see the guys step up for him. However CBC decided to blow Crosby for being a great guy and consoling MSL before the game, while the cameras happened to be there. Such a class act that Cindy. Nauseating.

I actually believe that that was genuine. Of course, they will get the cameras there, but I don't think that Crosby's expression of condolence was any less sincere and genuine because of the camera.

Now, his on-ice persona during the game can drive me nuts. I hope Crosby looks squarely at himself for his own lacking. Let's face it, he has been coasting a lot, Exhibit 1 is Brassard's first goal. He coasted in Game 4 too, not too mention the CBJ series.

The hockey media's going to cover Crosby if he picks his nose and that's just the way it is but it was a nice gesture. That's it. All these guys in sports are probably a lot more quiet and normal than we think they are.

Yup. And **** off everyone claiming this team has no heart. This was a great performance with lots of heart.

I hope the so called "fans" ridiculing Nash, Girardi and St.Louis last game stay away from the Garden and let the true supporters attend the game.

Let's go Rangers! This series is definitely winnable.

This was a great performance with the heart this team needs to win in the playoffs, but the past few games the Rangers played with no heart. So anyone saying that would have been correct.

Yeah.

Crosby doesn't seem like the **** stain he is on ice, off it. He seems like a genuinely kind and quiet guy. He's just a prissy little ***** on the ice 95% of the time.

Beauty. Now msl can win another on Mother's Day. Then anything can happen on game 7. Rangers seen to show up in those winner take all games

True enough, maybe it was legit but just the fact of who he is and he "does no wrong" has me completely jaded to anything Crosby related.
I guess it's more of a comment on the coverage of Crosby then Crosby himself.

 I hate to admit it because it is Crosby however, I think you are right.

I don't recall where I read it, but, if I'm not mistaken, Crosby was a straight-A student throughout high school and noted for helping "challenged" kids in his classes. He may be an obnoxious whiner on the ice, but he seems like a quality person.

Brass #1 star of the game just for this. The 2 goals help a little, too.

Thank you for posting this.

Who's cutting onions in here?

He's a Maritimer, they are known for being down to earth and friendly. And some of them cross-check too much and complain...

What

Nash deserves every single bit of ridicule he gets

We're 12 games in and he still has no ****ing goals.

He's a New York Ranger. It's a team sport. I want the team to do well, that means supporting all the players on the team. Even the ones that are struggling.

I have a hard time believing that booing a struggling player will make him play better. No, he hasn't scored a goal but he did put in some descent job defensively. Again, it's a team sport, and he's a part of that team. As a supporter you lift them up, not shoot them down. That's just my opinion, of course.

Nash was better. Came close a time or two early. Did not see enough from him as the game went on. He has to score. That's it.

I know I wasn't the only Rangers fan wearing this shirt tonight.

Lol, what a joke. Those last 3 efforts were unacceptable, especially in the playoffs and ESPECIALLY game 4. They deserved to be booed off the ice and Nash specifically.

Even the beat writers were writing it was deserved.

I've spent over 100K on this team in the past decade. If I think I'm getting a **** product I'm entitled to boo. You're going to tell me I'm not a real fan?

How about the beat writers who travel with the team? Are they not dedicated because they think the team they are basically a part of deserves to be booed?

Sorry, but I'm not going to act all rah rah about this team just because. I want them to win, as much as anyone on this planet. My life revolves around them. But I'm a realist and when the product I pay a **** load for is embarrassing, I'll gladly call them out on it.

And Rick Nash is not paid to be ok, or get chances, he is paid to score, plain and simple. He hasn't done that, at all. I've defended this guy for over a year now, but there's no more. His effort is weak and his results are nil. My biggest issue is that he doesn't even skate hard to the bench. He doesn't go to the net after generating a shot. I've seen him mozy to the bench numerous times in these playoffs whne the play is going on around him.

If he was hitting everything in site and giving what i felt was 100% I might feel better about him overall, but right now I see a lazy, gliding player who isn't producing any offensive results.

Parents are in town for my graduation so I didn't watch as closely as I wanted to. Sucks but I never see them. Good to see the boys win for MSL. Good to see PP goals. Good to read through a post game thread with six or seven usual posters MIA. No negativity in here. It's refreshing. Ya Gotta Believe I guess? Let's go home and force game 7.

That is just too deep...

Did anymore PVR the game? It was something else to see... it was towards the very end of the game. Not the part where they were on the ice after the final buzzer - they were both sitting on the bench. I want to say there was less than 5 mins to play. Maybe when it was down to a couple...

Three stars:
1. Brass
2. Kreider
3. McDonagh

Honorable mention to MSL for even being out there, not to mention, playing well.

Overall, our defense played great. Hank only had a couple of non routine stops to make. We took away their space...except for Malkin, who can create his own space.

The team wasn't afraid to go the crease at either end. They consistently made the effort to get in front of Fleury (rather than just saying "we have to be better" then not following up on it). They conciously kept doing it. That was real key ingredient to this win, and I doubt I can remember a game where they did it as well as tonight.
They also defended Henrik well in the post-whistle scrums in front of and around Henrik. That gave Henrik some confidence, he knew the team had his back. Look how he chirped and bothered Crosby, that was sweet.
