Honestly, from an organizational standpoint what was the purpose of adding redundant replacement level NHLers like Dellandrea, Grundstrom, Goodrow, to a team already chock full of replacement level NHLers? Half the lineup is fine, but it should not be 3/4ths. Let the young guys come up and play. Make them compete even if most of them fail, how is that any worse than this shit show?
On top of that, it isn't like Dellandrea and Grundstrom were established NHL vets! I suppose the Sharks didn't want to rush any prospect...

Not sure why Gushchin and Bordeleau haven't gotten a chance. Have they been that bad in the AHL?

I mean, it’s probably too early to make that claim. But if next season is the same, who could blame him? He is already starting to look as frustrated as Bedard.

This year was by design. Next year will probably be different. That way they can get in one good year before they go back in the tank for the 2027 draft and go for DuPont.

“Team Culture”, “playing the right way”, and all that absolute nonsense.

This team is now as unwatchable as last season. The fun that was with this team has dissipated into watching the same old inability to string any offence together.

We get to watch plug after plug get given opportunity after opportunity despite never earning it with their play.
This is simply 100% false. If you genuinely think that, you must be forgetting top pairing Kyle Burroughs, Mike Hoffman, and Tankko Tankkanen.

They’ve been fine in the AHL. They’ve also been playing there for 3 years. It’s time to see what you have with them and get them away from McCarthy. Give them an extended look to see if they might have something to offer. Don’t just send them back down and block them with garbage. Odds are they fail and you let them walk, but they still have a chance to surprise, Grundstrom and Dellandrea have not with their previous franchises, and have shown next to nothing in San Jose.

Being bottom 5 was by design. Being an unexciting trash heap of a team that is worst in the league is not what they intended.

If that was the case, then they should have kept Quinn.

SNOG announcement

It's got the right score.

Georgiev lets in three weak goals in the first, and then shuts down the Islanders the rest of the way leading to another 4-1 loss. Drew and co bend over backwards talking about how he had another solid performance to keep the team in the game.

Congrats on your first SNOG of the season, @TheBeard!

Sorry, I find it hard to have another take when the team has Fourgiev, top six Barclay Goodrow/Dellandrea/grubdstrom rotation, top pair Ceci, 82 games of Jan Rutta.

I love seeing the team struggle to reach 20 shots on goal a game.

Really? I thought Grundy was like 35 😂

Smith and Graf looked decent, besides that, one of the worst games of the season in terms of watchability

Goose had his chance earlier this year and I think put the final nail in the coffin of his career with the Sharks.

Bords though, I totally agree. It’s prob unlikely he pops, but it’s really weird to me that he hasn’t gotten his own final shot. Especially when we keep throwing Grunstrom and Delandria out there like they’re legit NHLers.

Fourgiev has nine whole games as a Shark to his name, which is just one more than the highly-watchable Askarov. None of Goodrow, Dellandrea, or Grundstrom are regularly in the top-6. Ceci is at least a very legitimate NHL player, and Rutta played 70 games last season anyway.

You're letting recency bias from the last two games taint your opinion.
