Maximum points for St Louis is 60
Maximum points fort he Kings is 59
Maximum points for Minny is 57

**** do we have the tiebreaker against Minny? If not we could possibly drop to 7th and have to play the Ducks in the first round with a regulation loss against SJ on Saturday. LOL

Can't drop below 6th.

Kings have the ROW tiebreaker against all of those teams.

are you sure if we lose on Saturday and Minnesota wins out against EDM and COL that we would still have the ROW tiebreaker? If that happened:

Kings 48 26-17-5
Minny 48 27-18-3

not sure how many are regs.

No the Kings didn't

They were 3-2-5 to end the season. The last two games against SJ were also piss poor efforts.

We had just landed Carter who was playing well. King and Nolan looked great and hungry after being called up (what the hell happened this year?) Sutter had guys motivated and we had one of the best records for the 2nd half of the season, despite blowing the last couple of games...

This ones on Sutter !
I'm not sure I understand Sutters logic in frappe'ing the lines tonight. The entire team looked lost and really didnt know who was where or what to do. It should've been as simple as putting Toffoli in Browns spot and that's it. Instead we got a gigantic cluster-f of lost player! He picked a hell of a time to bench Penner.

Easy the games mattered.

The Kings didn't lock up a playoff spot till the second to last game.

They had the spot locked up cause Dallas lost....

Then proceeded to mail in the last two games against SJ.

They don't care about Home ice....That is on display for all to see.

Not even sure Sutter cares.

Yotes playing well so far. 1-0 Yotes!

I think we need home ice to beat San Jose not so much for the Blues.
Home ice vs the Blues is what I am wishing for.

I didn't like it, but I think there's a method to the madness there.

He gave two players a chance to play with Carter, to see if he can find a top sixer who isn't Dustin Penner to play with Carter. He gave Clifford a chance to play on the third line, with the two players who should be together no matter what. I liked that. Then the first line was a throwaway line to give Toffoli a chance to show he should be on the team in the playoffs. Didn't work.

I don't think the Kings made those line changes today with winning in mind.

That is what it looked like to me, Sutter is showing he doesn't even care about Home Ice ether.

Think of it this way, the Kings have to win on the road anyway in the playoff's.

You have to win a road game.

The Kings can handle Vancouver. The Blues can have the Sharks (and handle them fairly easily). Blues/Kings in round 2.

I'm cool with tanking. ;)

Others who have said it are right though. Sutter has said openly he doesn't give a crap about home ice, and I'm sure that permeates through the team. Who can blame them really. Look what happened last year and they're already finishing in a higher position in the standings than last year.

Thank you. Sutter doesn't care about home ice and the pacific title, so why would his team

Stoll has been the best Center for about two weeks now....

That is a little scary.

So I keep seeing this but I don't understand it. I get that stats aren't everything but over the last 10 games Stoll has had 2 points, Kopitar 9 points, and Richards 10 points. Where exactly would we be without those points from our two top centers?

Richards and Kopitar are lost playing together. Kopitar is lost playing with anyone right now, really. He's seriously been awful for weeks. I don't have a great feeling going into the playoffs like this. Yeah we turned it on last year but that was as rare as drafting a guy like Doughty and having him play like he did as an 18 year old. It's just not going to happen twice in two years.

If the Kings could've won a faceoff, you might have a point. They couldn't win a faceoff, so what the lines were didn't matter. They barely had the puck because they were chasing it the entire game, because the part of the game that doesn't have much to do with systems or anything was awful.

It's like a center and quarterback. If the center doesn't get the ball to the QB, nothing after that makes a difference.

Poor effort today! All I saw was Kings skating at half speed or floating! If we can't get Home Ice might as well tank to get Vancouver. Don't wanna play the Sharks w/o own barn advantage!!!

If he doesn't give a crap about home ice then he should be resting all of our important players right now. Kopitar and Richards look like they need a break cuz they've been pretty lackluster, Kopitar more than Richards especially...

Ugh..its really difficult to see them lose these games right now. I know this team has another switch... but, you can't go into the playoffs with a 6 game losing streak on the road. That's rough..I hope they prove me wrong.

This team is tired.

prior to these 2 games, LA had played 24 games in 46 days. Anaheim had a stretch of 25 games in 44 days, they followed that stretch with a 4 game losing streak. They've had a rough stretch of a lot of games. Last season SJ had a stretch in March/April of 20 games in 38 days, they proceeded to lose in 5 to StL.

As great as it was, I'm sick of hearing about "last year" to justify the bad play by players or teams.

When last years Dustin Penner, Anze Kopitar, Mike Richards, Drew Doughty, Dwight King, Matt Greene and Jonathan Quick come to play we can mention last year. When Willie Mitchell who was the Kings 2nd best d-man returns talk about last year, when AMart can get into the lineup over a rookie talk about last year.

How many players on this team are playing at the same or higher level than they were last year? I got Voynov, Carter, Stoll, Lewis and Brown. More guys need to turn it on.
