Habs playing Josh Anderson tonight, love to see Freddie smack that guy
I’m afraid Fred would have his hands full. Pretty sad that we are physically outmatched by Montreal of all teams.
can we send gryz down to the minors?
if so, why havent we yet? nobody would claim that salary with his play.
We can never get rid of Gryz. I think his dad sharpened Ray Bourques skates once. Totally useless yet he’s in every game no matter what kind of terrible play we get from him every game.

Well. My mom hurt her back this morning and can't go to the birthday party. Those function hall chairs would aggravate it. So, in turn I can't go to the birthday party. I refuse to leave her home alone while the entire family is at the party. Dammed if I do, dammed if I don't. She did tell me to go, but I know she'd be sad if I went. So I'm sad and depressed missing my niece's sweet 16 party. Nothing ever goes to plan in my life. Who did I piss off in another life for this stuff to keep happening to me? It feels personal.

So I'll be able to watch the Bruins now. Hopefully we win. Give he something to cheer up about because this f***ing sucks.

Not surprised Monty seems to have a love affair with Jesper recently. He had one real good game, rest of them at the level of other third or fourth liners with spurts of good play. He’s just another safe player having 2 seasons with NJ under his belt. Seems the “this is a transition year” they started the year off with is starting to wear off as they push young players off to the side. If Potrias could be sent down there is no doubt in my mind he would have been already.

My big thing the season was seeing younger players take on more responsibility and live with their mistakes. It’s really starting to look like they are abandoning this idea. To me that’s more of a failure than not winning the cup (I really don’t think they have the horses anyways). They don’t do crap in the playoffs again and don’t give young guys responsibilities they are right back to square one.

Btw, I am not sure what to make of tonight. On the one hand, I know we are better and usually handle these guys at home. We have Pasta, and they have some good, small second liners, like Caufield and Suzuki etc. We are a little deeper. a lot bigger up front, and a little better overall.

Still, experience and my gut are bugging me. They are telling me it might be time for a real stinker in this trap game where they look past the Habs and forward to a very tough homestand. I still think we win.

I do not like seeing Forbort and Carlo back in, because it slows us down and makes us easier to attack. But we knew it would happen, and we could us Carlo's size.
Yeah sometimes getting too many players back from injury can throw the structure out of whack for a bit. I am expecting it, but hoping it doesn’t affect them enough to lose, I hate losing to the Habs.

Whilest I acknowledge that the Canadiens have to be good to be in the playoffs for the Bruins to be able to eliminate them, I just can’t bring myself to want any kind of success for them even if it leads to a failure down the road. The playoffs bring hope, and too many of my ursine brethren have had hopes and dreams dashed at the hands of Les Habitants.

Suffer, you f***ing assholes.

Suffer.
I love your attitude!

I helped make these favors for the tables. I figured I'd share. I'm no craft person, but I think I did a decent job. I hope everyone at the party enjoys them.

Monty has never brought into the idea of this being a 'transition year'. And to be fair as a coach it's difficult to expect him to - these guys often have short shelf lives so unless you're on a clearly and openly rebuilding team, every year is 'win now' for a coach. And that means playing your best 18 and prioritizing short term goals over long term gains.

There's still been some good results on the rookie front though - Beecher, Lohrei and Poitras have all had solid game time and experience, Merkulov has at least been sighted. Lauko is no longer a 'kid' as such, but him becoming a regular at 23 is still good to see and a handy injection of younger talent. We could hope for more, but in terms of setting up the team's future there's been some definite progress made.

But we're into the back half of the season now and the organization, rightly or wrongly, believes it's a legit contender. So they're going to act accordingly. Which means the kids are only going to get games if they're fully earned, like-for-like, on merit. Even for Poitras, despite his unusual position, this will be true on the run home and into the playoffs.

I get what you're saying and I largely agree with it - I was all on board this season with putting a real focus on giving the best prospects full opportunities to learn and develop, make their mistakes and be better for them. But things have unfolded as they have and the Bruins are top-3 in the league again. For better or worse they're almost obliged to take another run at a Cup, however slim the chances of success, so it's experience to the fore and we'll just have to see how it pans out.
