GDT: Game #43: Kings @ Oilers - 7:30 PM - SNW

Our play in the corners in our own end is abysmal to say the least and it’s been that way since around Christmas.

It isn’t just the fact that we can’t seem to win a single battle there and often give up clean possessions, it’s also that it seems there is an open man in the slot ready for it almost every time.

It’s a team issue and it has to be rectified now. Would be down about 4-0 off the exact play I described above if not for a few very close saves.

You'd think they're being dominated. The Kings come out fast so they can turtle the rest of the game. If the Oilers pop an early one, it's game over. The Kings have 0 offensive creativity.

The hunger to do what it takes to win battles isn't there and you could say that for most of our players.

Don't see us beating the four years straight. They just play these low scoring games better and have that itch

Calgary is a dogshit hockey team, lots of other teams look great against them...

I realize this. They don't have game breakers. They can play this way with more consistency than we can.

King's play coward hockey imo. From a gamesmanship pov. No ego on them. They know they can't get in a track meet

Our players have a tough time getting through, but our guys have more of a tendency to break down in our own end imo.

King's score more "playoff" type goalz. They get to the slot, have had a few shots from there.

I actually loved their pp. No dikimg Round. Lots of shots from the hash marks with traffic

Playing this boring AF kings team is like playing a game of chicken. It's like watching Canucks hockey. Paint dry level

Only a win makes it feel good lol

If we get another PP we better make it count because I doubt that we'll get a 3rd unless it's a no brainer. We need more size, speed and grit on the wings. I wouldn't mind seeing Kapanen on Drai's RW in a game like this.
