The Kings have only had a bit over 2 minutes. There is a reason their powerplay is garbage. A bunch of guys that sell out for defense.

its the first period and the kings have less than a minute more time in the O zone according to the last stinger showed at 2:29 vs 1:27 and theyve had a power play. The sky isn't falling.

I doubt it's goaltending coaching. This is likely a development phase goalie area of growth or just how it will be with Skinner slow to anticipate and react with his puck handling. It's about game reps and experience. Incredible though also how weak Skinner is with his puck movement despite being a big guy.

If he struggles in an area as he does with puck handling, the coaching should be training him to limit the amount his weakness is exposed, that clearly isn’t happening. His puck handling/movement is far more often a detriment than a benefit. Not every goalie has to be Mike Smith 3rd defender back there. For a guy like Skinner I think it would be better if he picked his spots better and focused more on staying in the net and maintaining position.
 
They lost every battle on that PP. Extra man and LA is beating them in every scrum along the boards lol.

Except the one where Nuge broke his stick and they won the puck off the boards to retain full possession by the time 93 got back in the play.

Of course Nuge then proceeded to throw the puck away as soon as he got a touch.
 
I guess when you can barely beat a bottom feeding Chicago team it's prob a big stretch to ask them look co.peyetive against the kings.

Yup. Need more Oilers doing exactly that. Podz can bring that game at his default. Some of our other forwards need to step in that regard.

Against the kings is so important to score first
 
LA must laugh. Don't even have to break a sweat defending this perimetwr team. On the atrocious pp and overall

Just all perimeter hockey. No urgency to shoot

That ekholm blast and like two King's are behind the oiler guarding the net

They just refuse to go to the net. The top guys
