Quick needs to start 85% of the last games. He needs to be ready and confident for the playoffs. It's not like Bernier was all that outstanding vs. the Ducks. This is a team sport, not an individual sport. Everyone needs to do their jobs in order for the team to succeed. There's only so much a goaltender can do to keep you in the game.

Quick carried them last year but if the Kings hadn't gotten Carter and started scoring, they would've been watching those playoffs from the sideline.

Jesus, another game I can't watch. The second in a row! In SD we don't get KCOP and I don't have NHL Network. It'll be blacked out on gamecenter. ::Sigh::

Not at all. But how hard is it to understand that Bernier is just having a better year?

Bernier is having a better year.. but, he isn't your number one. Quick has been playing fine and good enough to win games. Quick would really have to start ******** the bed to have Bernier take over. He is a back up and that's where he is staying. I can't wait till he's traded.

Here's my .02....although Bernier is having a better year if you compare stats, I'm just not sold that this guy can win the 'big' game. Look at the Anaheim game....that was the first time this season where he got a start that would basically say 'it's your ball, take it and run'...he could have ultimately edged out Quick from Sutter's preference had he come up big. The first time he had pressure this season, he blew it. Playoffs start today, I take Quick hands down.

According to some Kings fans, when Quick isn't "stealing" games.. he's useless. Got it.

I can't find the word "useless" anywhere else in this thread aside from right here. :shakehead

I don't know why everyone gets their panties in a bundle when someone merely suggests that there may be a possibility that Quick may still not be back to top form after his surgery. Can't any of you admit that Bernier could possibly be the better choice for big games?

Quick has looked good at times, not so good at others. And yes, he has made some progress lately. But is he outplaying Schneider / Fasth / Crawford / Niemi / Emery / Rinne?

I get that you guys are loyal to Quick. I hate being the stick in the mud here, trust me.

And I've said before that I'd love nothing more than to be eating my words in a few weeks.

^^^^ exactly. Some seem to take it so insulting that the mere suggestion that Bernier should start a bit more.

Quick is still the man, but he's also not playing close to last year's standard - for whatever reason.

I'm starting to keep track of how many times Quick winds up on his stomach when the opposition scores a goal. He's going for the swim team I tell ya!

This will be a very interesting game tonight. The Kings are coming off of their worst game of the season, but nothing major said in the press.

The Avs are coming off their biggest win of the season after the players were called out by their backup goalie.

I think this game favors the Avs. The kings struggle against them when they don't have additional motivation.

Nobody has to say it. And I'm not even talking just about this thread. It's everywhere. During a game..after a game. If you can't come to that conclusion then I'm sorry.

I never said that Quick is playing at the top of his game. He obviously isn't. Or we wouldn't be having this Quick vs. Bernier discussion right now. But, it seems to me it's a lot easier to be putting the blame on Quick than actually the problem surrounding the rest of the team.

And for putting Bernier in "big games"... no. I would much rather see Quick. Bernier has held his own. But, he isn't playing lights out either.

This argument is so damn tiring.

Not everybody has the same opinion. There is alot of grey area here. I think the people who are blindly loyal to Bernier are just as obnoxious as the ones who wont even consider the fact that Quick might not be ready for playoff hockey.

Anyway, whatever. Sorry to engage you in this worthless petty argument. My bad.

I said it's tiring. Nice try though.

Quick might not be ready, but I put a lot more trust into him than I do Bernier. That's only because he know's how to step it up. I would be very cautious if we had to ride Bernier in the playoffs.

What 'big games' has Bernier won? I can give you about 16 reasons or big games that Quick has won...

I feel the same way about Penner...I'd put just about anyone in his place right now, but when the chips are on the line, the guys seems to produce.

That's hardly me being rude. Just saying how I see it.

I disagree, but whatever. It's cool.

Often a snide tone around here, many don't realize it or just don't care.

I consider you all my brothers and sisters and it kills me to see how nasty some of you are to one another.

i just think it's weird timing for the note on Quick vs Bernier. I don't think having THREE Berniers in net would have saved us last game...that was a total team abortion. And Quick was honestly pretty spectacular in the 1st.

I know you were talking about 'big games'--was the Ducks game not big?

I'm not bashing you--it's just weird because I see Quick slowly getting back into form, but it seems like last game is being held against him when it was honestly the worst kings game i've seen by the team in the sutter era.

I too think Bernie's had the better season and I'd like to see him get more starts--but we gotta ride Quick into a rhythm here.

As long as you can admit Bernier lets in more 5-hole goals than any 'butterfly' goalie i've ever seen, I'll allow it

The shutout in Minnasota was pretty big and his last start against SJ looked pretty good also.

And yes, those were 16 pretty big wins I agree but that was all pre back surgery.

All these different opinions we are going to get into it. I think it would be weird if we didn't. I'm so used it by now. Plus, brother and sisters get into arguments all the time. ;) I don't look at anybody differently unless you try and insult me with something that has nothing to do with hockey. Then you just look like a giant *******.

Fair enough.

Just do me a favor in the future, if you are tired of arguing a point simply just don't participate in the argument anymore.
