Mcdavids offensive instincts are somewhere around Josh Browns lately.
and brain, hes making the worst of most available chances out there and has been for a while. Passes at the goal line, drop passes to no one, passing it into skates and trying to force passed through 4 defenders and sometimes he does all this in a goal scoring location or High danger area and doesn't shoot

Not much Skinner could do on the 4 goals, the team's not even bothering to cover the net front or slot... Still you need a save or two on a shot he shouldn't have.

One good thing of this period: it shines a massive spotlight what they don't need on the backend: A big, but slow player. Brown is reminding me of watching Ceci and Vinny last year; Needless to say, I don't miss it.

We've been playing well since early November so the sky isn't falling, but man when this team is not on their game they are slooooooow. Making the Penguins look fast is a skill.

Skinner feeling cocky to start this game was one of the funniest things. Bopping Skinner all full of himself after one game blanking the score. That didn't last long. At one point in this game Skinner was rocking a 18GAA. He now has it whittled down to 12.

Funny thing about this wouldn't surprise me if the Oilers dig down and start dominating but how many times has Skinner allowed 4GA in first periods? Such a thing with him.

I think Bouchard cloned his brain and loaned it to McDavid with the shoot/pass IQ

1st time.this year oilers allowed 4 in the first period.

But you guys keep saying it's all him and not the elite defense they've been playing. There is a reason no other hockey media thinks highly of him. He's streaky, like every other backup.
Skinner is entirely dependent on the Oilers playng airtight D in front of him. Pretty much most of the time anyway. He had a rare good game last one where he influenced the outcome. Usually its just the Oilers shutting everything down in front of him and owning the puck.
