Its hard because those one on one puck battles are largely about who wants it more.

They like to do the fly-by and swipe at the puck & keep going. Unfortunately the usual result is they don't get the puck and now they are headed in the wrong direction looking stupid.

We need to play more periods like the 1st if we want to have a shot at winning this series. We came out and looked amazing, could of easily been up 2-0. Not sure if it was Florida's adjustments or if we changed our game, but the coaches need to figure it out and get us back to that. If we can put together four more periods like the 1st we can win the series. I just don't know if its doable, afraid it might of just been a bad period for Florida...

The series is far from over .. got them to OT on two shit games. Sometimes I really wonder if some guys quit being a fan. Yeah some guys were bad. Maybe just try to motivate and see positives then just shit on everything.. we are called fans and not should not sink to levels of this shit national broadcast or the main board.

The demise of our penalty killing is a devlopment I wouldn't have predicted. It's been trash.

Goody's shorthanded goal last game was great but when you're allowing 1-2 PP goals every game, who cares? They cannot clear the puck. It's maddening.

Can someone tell my why Trouba overcommits for a useless hit and just leaves the entire circle and down low open for one of the easiest PP setups I've seen in these playoffs?

Yup, atrocious play by him. You can't make that play on a clean sheet. Maybe on a PK late in the period, but on a clean sheet you're just making it way too easy for them leaving the lanes that open.

Against NJ. They looked defeated. Camera over the bench looks like players sulking in defeat..

Game 5 against the Canes. Game 6 end of the 2nd against the Canes. They looked absolutely defeated.

Tonight. Pans to Mika. Looks absolutely defeated.

Are the leaders just mentally weak? Is it that hard to bounce back? They did in Game 6 3rd period. Was that a fluke? Or was that the never quit that we really need to show up.

They're not doing anything with Panarin and Zibanejad's contracts. And even if they did, they're not replacing 200 points. It's piss in the wind.

Control what you can control and change what you can realistically change.

We've had an elite powerplay forever, so obviously these guys are capable when they have possession in the offensive zone. Let's get a defense corps that can get them to the offensive zone more than once or twice a period.

What pisses me off is that I thought half the team was really working their socks off and some "big" players were happy with the away draw waiting to get back on home ice (looking at you crumbles).

That Florida D is shutting down our top guys. If it wasn’t for troch and Laf we’d have been swept.

They can’t keep Kreids/Zib/Bread off the score sheet for two more games no fuc*in’ way.

I will also reiterate, Bob is due for a dogshit period where he lets in 4.

Yes. Because if nothing else, Brodzinski doesn't make horrible mistakes. And has played an NHL game in 3 months. And also because he can keep up. And thanks for owning up to it, and I'm not saying I thought he'd be on the ice for the game winning goal, but all the factors I mentioned played into it. Meanwhile even Rempe was on the bench. Frustrating.

Chytil didn't play an NHL game in 6 months. Should they never play these guys if they are healthy? I didn't think it was a bad idea giving him a shot if the only other alternative is Brodzinski. Playing Wheeler in OT is another story entirely.

Yet despite that we still won one and barely lost another.

We can only go up in our play.

Its crazy how Florida can just turn it into another gear like that.

Rangers played a great 1st period. I was thrilled. The last 40+ minutes were some of the most non-competitive playoff hockey I've ever seen this team play. They turned us into an AHL team.

Z and CK out attempted 21-5 and outshot 11-2. Neither has a point in the series.

They are often out there with Miller/Trouba and that group collectively gets destroyed.

Our players are mostly terrible.
Our players have no fight or grit or desire.

This makes zero sense.
We got more points than anyone in the league (good players)
Even when dominated we refuse to collapse, take games to OT and are tied 2-2 in the conference finals (desire)

If everybody is crap they're fighting hell of a hard and it if they have no desire then they must be amazingly good players.

Coaches love Trouba. They are gonna play him. Only one that can do anything is Drury in the off-season.

His 15-team no trade clause kicks in after this season I believe. trade him with retention to one of the other 16 teams. Someone will take him at a reduced cap hit.

Anyway stuff like that can't happen until the summer. Right now Mika, Kreider and Bread have to make an impact.
