The Rat Den
Leafs need to move one of Nylander or Marner down to the third line and Acciari up. This gives the Leafs three lines with a scoring threat and creates a bit of confusion on the Panthers side. Panthers aren't deep on defense this gives the Leafs a bit of an advantage with matchups. Other than that I cant think of much else they can do to win out here. The core isnt scoring but neither is the Panthers core.

I think the Leafs will win tonight.
Then, who knows?

Highly unlikely ;)

Well only good news my friends is we will get to see if Woll is gonna be da guy here or not .. this lineup by Keefer not likely to score much so it will be decided by Woll .. i put my $$$ on Woll only because I have seen him play in totally one sided games and win them by himself .. and he gets more clutch as you get to championship finals .. but now da big question can he put an NHL team in playoffs in a do or die game on his back and win .. i know you guys aren't gonna believe it but you will see soon .. da kid has it .. he was made for it .. can he do 4 in a row well that's Conn Smyth stuff in round 2 which is way way way over da top
I agree. I really like Woll. This could be the spark this team needs (the only bad side to that is the team should have responded to him having to go in last game, and they literally shit the bed).

How do you get excited or pumped up for tomorrow nights game?
it’s been a long time since I have been so blah about a game……..no excitemen, no anger, no anticipation just indifference. I hope that changes before the game
I’m not even gonna watch the game but will have it on in background. I did the same for each game 7s last two years. I think they have the ability to win one game but winning four this team would have to do a complete 180. They haven’t looked good most of the post season.

Please -- everyone -- correct me (and explain it to me like an eight year old)...But when considering that only a sweep of Florida puts us in the 3rd Round:

if we have a 0% chance of sweeping the 2nd Round, but an 8.5% chance of making the 3rd Round...should we rely on the statistician providing the information?

LMAO this JOKE of a coach still doesn't have Nylander on #1PP unit. Can't make this shit up

I feel like O'Rielly should be the one in front of the net for screens and deflections and down low support. His hand eye is very good for deflections and his playmaking is much better than Tavares if he's needed to pop out to the side of the net for that tic tac toe pass to the bumper in the slot where Tavares should be. Should be Matthews and Nylander on their opposite sides for one timers and Rielly at the point like usual. If they desperately need Marner on the top PP unit just because of who he is then put him in the bumper spot where Tavares would be. If they don't like that then split up all the talent and make 2 good PP units and split the ice time because most teams don't have 2 good PK units.

Marner and Matthews still together is an interesting move. I guess we just ignore all playoff games this hasn't worked and keep trying it until it maybe works 1 game and they can say I told you it'd work. Gustafsson has been a good addition for helping out offensively and making plays but can be a liability on the defensive side but so has the guys he'd be replacing so it would've been nice to see him on the 3rd pair with McCabe maybe and Liljegren with Brodie. I've been wanting Keefe to try this out to see if they'd work:

Jarnkrok-Matthews-Nylander
Bunting-O'Rielly-Marner
Kerfoot-Tavares-Lafferty
ZAR-Kampf-Acciari

Rielly-Schenn
Brodie-Liljegren
Gustafsson-McCabe

Never understood why O'Rielly hasn't been on net front duty yet. Like you said the dude's got a hell of an eye for the puck, very Pavelski-like in that aspect.

JT just ain't it.

It's game 92 of the 2022-23 Season, and the guy masquerading as an NHL Head Coach, still believes that if he could just come up with some secret line up combination that the team will be able to win, but he just can't find it.

Nice lines Sheldon. :biglaugh:

Holl gets a promotion? :help:

All joking aside I hope the boys pull off a W. Win this one, get the series back to Toronto and take it one game at a time.

Game 3 was awful but the team played well in Games 1 and 2. This series has not been a blowout. Even with the bad Game 3 we still could have won the damn thing. Lets go!

Go Leafs Go!

Unfortunately, Leafs will win this one handily and actually, for the first time, show very well and look hungry (like the first 6 minutes of game 2). This will very likely not only delay the inevitable but will save enough face for the infamous run it back x8.

If there's one thing I've learned about this team it's the opposite of expectation will happen.

JT isn't too bad at it but the net front guy is also used as a playmaker for some plays and needed as support and O'Rielly is just much better at that and overall that spot is just made for a guy like him. The high slot bumper spot is made for a guy like Tavares as well. High tips and one timers from all directions which is what he's been good at his entire career. Marner could honestly do that too. If Nugent Hopkins can then Marner could too. Also it's little things I wish they'd do more on the PP like dump it in soft in the corner or hard around the boards and get 3 or 4 guys on the puck to get possession and then set up so when they start to stay back deeper to cheat for those it makes carrying the puck in easier. Carolina does it quite a bit.

Didn't they have Nylander playing with Matthews for most of the Tampa series and that's the only round they've ever won?

Matthews-Marner were NEVER split up in the CBJ series, Habs series and now in the Panthers series. All these series Leafs got their asses handed to them

Only time Keefe adjusted to have them separate is the time Leafs won this post season.

hell Keefe is making maurice's/barkov's life a lot easier by not having to choose who to play barkov against because clearly tavares-nylander duo is trash 100% because tavares sucks ass and ROR's wingers are not good enough offensively.

its amazing that folks wanna sweep this under the rug only to support the INCOMPETENCE that is Keefe
