Small sample size warning in advance…

He's actually a really good 3rd line center, but the hope is he'll eventually develop into a 2nd line center type & bring some offense.

He can easily skate the puck out of our zone & is solid at backchecking. No issues defensively. He's still developing as a player especially with the injuries.

If he did nothing, they all did absolutely nothing too.
Dach has been among our most dominant forwards in a very short sample size; thus far, my expectations have been completely overturned.
I know you like Dach, hes talented and could be something pretty special, but just like Slaf, its okay to admit he hasnt shown anything.
He's literally stood out as the best forward on the team, and I was more than dubious about his play when we first acquired him; the man is slaughtering it when it comes to expected goals-for %. Regardless of his deployment, he's making the most of it.

It was not only about xGF or Corsi, it was also showing quotes from an article specifically talking about his value in gaining the zone and creating plays off transition.

We know your standard for good is one of two things:
Being a player you like in the NHL or their draft year.
Being so dominant in the NHL that no one could possibly refute their greatness.

Because any evaluation of Dach that doesn't have him grading out as at least 'good' is a poor evaluation. He's literally controlled the ice while he's been out there. He's stripped pucks off players consistently. He's created scoring chances for himself and his line-mates (he's another camera angle and a Gallagher post from being tied for the scoring lead on the team). He's been an automatic zone entry. He's engaged physically and had battles with the opposition in each game.

He said he is not producing much offense, so that is why he is supposedly not good but he is saying that Monahan who has the same number of points as Dach has been good. Kinda funny.

My own eye test so far he’s at least as good as Eller before he beefed up and stopped staring at his own D in the face for 3 seconds every time he wrapped around the boards with the puck in the ozone..

Glad to know you can actually admit that you weren’t really sure about him and that your idea can be overturned!

Some people decide their idea won’t ever change and they won’t admit they were wrong even when they obviously are.

Just got them in. Will update the GDT later

Makes some sense.

I've wanted to see Monahan with Suzuki and Caufield as he's more skilled then Anderson.

Dadonov-Dvorak-Gallagher was a thing all training camp into exhibition games. They'll play a dump & chase game as no one is particularly skilled, and all 3 like that style of game.

Drouin & Anderson have had good chemistry in the past. Anderson opens up space for Drouin & Drouin can hit him with passes in transition. Dach is their defensive conscious.

4th line, hoo boy. The misfit line.

Just send Slaf to Laval and play Pitlick/Pezz as 12th/13th forward.

I find it hard to believe Anderson can be PP1, but Slaf whose confidence needs to be built can't even get on PP2.

Much better skater than Eller, but yeah, there are similarities, which is fine. If we draft Bedard in 2023, Suzuki-Bedard-Dach is one hell of a 1-2-3 center group, with an insane transition.

I don’t think it’s because they think he can’t play PP.

From what MSL said is that they don’t want to give him too much, they want to let him concentrate on 5 vs 5 for now. Don’t want to give him too much informations and directive at once.

That Slaf is not on the PP is not an issue in itself, the fact almost every other forward are, is.

Best forward? As in better than Suzuki and Caufield? Thats quite the claim. He mustve had a monster game against the Caps because I havent seen that.

Hes been carried by Monahans play in the offensive zone IMO. Whos been as good as hes ever been in there. They mesh well but I havent seen Dach create high danger chances to the extent of the first line. Funny enough though, Dachs been helping out Monahan a bunch in the neutral zone.

The first game was good, the second was a bunch of nothing. The third one is NA to me as I havent watched it.

Im not even down on Dach, I still think he could develop into a top line center and was pretty sure of it before his hand injuries.

I donno, but Burrows isn’t getting it done. Also saw enough of him last season, I’m not impressed. I’dd like to see something refreshing, like this maybe

Suzuki at the point
Caufield top left
Slafkovsky in front of net
Dach top right
Ghule
Stop stop you're making too much logical sense for Bird Brain Burrows

What we need is clearly more Hoffman :sarcasm:

Is it that they really don’t have the PP assets? Is it bad coaching? This has been going on for a while.
