It isn’t clean over the glass if it doesn’t actually go over the glass. There is no rule against the coach doing what he did. Maybe there should be but there isn’t.
that's not the rule though. it's determined by where the puck crossed out of the field of play. That's at the boards, not the glass behind the bench. It was above where the glass would be when it went out of play. It was a blown call. simple as that.

Yeah about 10 minutes into the 1st Canada started just bombing at the American's and it clearly wore them down. Very happy to see as Canada is a much bigger team and hadn't really used their size and strength to that point yet. Got lead into the trenches by the best player though which is always the most effective. Can't be on the 4th line not taking bodies if Laf is out there rolling people.

That heavy wave after wave punishing style completely wore the Americans down.

We have a big team I was glad to see them beat up the Yanks with our size and board play. The Americans couldn’t break up the cycle and it wore them down along with a heavy forecheck.

Let's play our best goal scorer with two grinders who can't find him in open ice and keep him off the power play entirely - NCAA winning coach™

Happy Canada won obviously but the US's lines may as well have been spewn out by a random number generator

Canada looked very fast overall. I thought they were the better team, but the USA were opportunistic. A guy like Kaliyev needs so little time to get a shot on net. Neither goalie was bad, nor excellent.
Hayton obviously enjoying playing with #11. I thought Veleno and Cozens looked good, and fast. Brink caught my eye a few times.

Dumb penalty by Dellandrea at a critical time. Surprised that Hunter had him out at the end...he's a better man than I.

When the puck is shot into the players’ bench, the penalty will not apply. When the puck is shot over the glass ‘behind’ the players’ bench, the penalty will be assessed.
From reading the rule book my understanding is ...not a penalty.

Laf is so much better than Byfield, age or not.

If this is a statement in general, then that's fine. But if this statement is based off of who looks better at the tournament, I think you have to remember that Lafreniere already has experience from last year, whereas Byfield is just getting his feet wet.

Lol, what? They were both some of the best forwards for Canada today.

Not sure I agree; USA dominated first, Canada dominated second, and third was very even which ultimately came off a bad turnover by the Americans.
USA dominated maybe the first four minutes of the first. If you’re watching that game and not seeing slanted ice for 55 minutes, I don’t know what to tell you. The only support you’ll find in this thread is Atticus.

It's a Crosby vs malkin comp imo
