Disagree, under Hitchcock, the team won games based on sketchy defensive play and decent outputs from Koskinen, McDavid and Draisaitl. 8 of our first 12 games with Hitch were 1 goal games that really felt like they could have gone either way.

Right now we are play fast aggressive hockey, tighter defensive schemes and have depth scoring. The real question is that more on our opponents being weaker to start the season (although I feel the Islanders will be a top 10 team). Time will tell really, but it's okay to have fun while it lasts.

yeah. To get into the playoffs you have to show no mercy every game and take advantage of struggling teams rather than play down to them.

The Devils didn't look good against the Flyers last night.. if not for Schneider in the 1st it could have been a 7-0 game easy.. Lots of breakdowns and mistakes that lead to goals or opportunities later. That being said, the Flyers had a great game and Carter Hart was perfect.. that 5 on 3 was wild.

The Oilers need to bring their A game and get solid goaltending tonight.

It won't be a trap game. Devils will collapse and panic trade after this game. Expect a 5 goal performance by Neal. Taylor Hall will get mad and get a 5 min major plus game misconduct. McDavid's going on gang busters tonight and can get up to 10 points. New modern NHL point record for a game.
