You also faced our backup goalie, and you faced us without our best player (possibly the best player in the western conference this year). Just sayin'. You can make the excuse about Greene being banged up, but both teams have had injuries. Two of our best centers (Getzlaf and Bonino) were gone today. That put us at a significant disadvantage in both ends...still came away with the win.

Also possibly having a good year due to contract and will fall back down to being one of the more over rated players in the game. Who could also become Dustin Penner part two. Since signing his contract Getzlaugh hasn't done a whole bunch.

You Duck fans crack me up, your team is overachieving and it will be fun to face you guys. Mighty Mighty fun. Oh and after Eileen's acting job you guys have lost any rights to complain about any player anywhere or anytime doing anything that could ever been even remotely seen as possibly being an embellishment.

Enjoy this seasons success. :)

Let me get this straight - you guys call Fasth the Ducks backup when he's played only one fewer game than Hiller, has two more ROW wins, same number of losses, has let in 7 fewer goals overall, has a better save %, and a lower GA average than your "#1"? That's strange.

IMO where the Kings would have the edge in a playoff matchup is going to be in the drawn-out nature of a playoff series. The Ducks will hang in the first couple of games but their defense will succumb to the forecheck. You could see it happening last night, and the fact that the Kings scored twice late is indicative of this. And this on a back-to-back night for the Kings. Their missing centers returning aren't necessarily going to fix this problem, since I don't think they'll score enough to offset it.

It interesting to observe the swing in opinion here of the shootout after last year... It was a good game, not much to complain about from the Kings perspective other than the shaky start. A playoff series between these two teams would be great, let's hope we get to see it.

Unfortunately, it looks like it would have to occur in the WCF and I don't see both of these teams getting that far.

From the Kings perspective meeting San Jose or Vancouver in the first round would be tough followed by Round 2 with Chicago, which I think would be an epic series with two contrasting styles.

From the Ducks perspective, I think St. Louis would give them all they could handle in the 1st Round. The best matchup for the Ducks in the 1st round would probably be Minnesota.

What happened to the AngelDuck I thought I knew and loved?

What the ****, AngelDuck? I thought we were friends! I thought that night I rescued you from the strip club and the Russian mob was magical. I mean human trafficking is wrong.....
And frankly....I wouldn't have scrubbed all that glitter off you and wouldn't have spent all of those hours inking that unicorn tramp stamp while listening your your sob stories if I knew what kind of person you really were.

You should really change your name to "JasmineDuck" because you are one of THOSE strippers

Next time I see you, I am finishing that tattoo to show what kind of person you really are

Wait, you are talking about a player who averages a point a game (maybe more?)...and you are comparing to him Penner and calling him overrated? Now, you're just making Kings fans look ignorant with that talk...

He was pointing out what he has done since he signed the contract. You are reading way too much into it.

Only team Anaheim can handle in a seven game series is Minnesota. They aren't gonna beat Blues or even Wings or even even Coyotes. Sorry Ducks fans, but you still can enjoy your Division banner next year like Coyotes fans do this year.

the ducks also faced LA's back up goalie, so your point there is essentially uselss. Bernier ironically this year has posted as good or better results than Quick, similar to what has been pointed out already in comparing ANH's keepers. both teams currently have a 1A - 1B situation with their keepers.

it won't surprise me to see Fasth move into the 1A spot for ANH moving forward. he seems to be their guy.

trying to play it off as you scored on our back up makes zero sense.

I think Chicago will have it equally tough in the first round. I want them in the conference finals though.

You seem to think he is comparing him to Penner directly, he was just using Penner as an example. Plenty of players have fallen off a cliff in production after getting big contracts, which is the point he was making

Right, and I'm saying that Penner DID NOT fall off in point production after signing a big contract until he was traded to the Kings. Therefore, pretty dumb comparison, no?

true, but that doesn't change the point he was trying to make, just means his example was poor, which is just splitting hairs

Unless shootouts become part of the playoffs, not really worried. I feel the same thing always happens to us against speed teams that we hemm all game. It's just unfortunate that dominating time on attack and a near 2 to 1 SOG advantage gets nullified when you goto the skills competition to decide games.

Oh well, on to Dallas.

Getzlaf is a legit #1 Center , Elite. ...

I don't even know why that is being questioned.

He had one (loaf) season so far cause he had a kid.

i think what can be taken from this is this. player stats and their overall level of play change greatly when they are expected to play 200'.

this goes back to the statement that one of the guys made about Kopitar (think it was Scuds), that he would be a 80-90 pt guy every season if he didn't focus on his defensive responsibilities so much.

penner did well in EDM because he was allowed to focus his game going north 100% of the time. he played essentially 120-150' of the ice and could cheat high, without ridicule. essentially play a lazy forward looking to cheat out of the zone and score.

Yes. This^.

I would only add that my point is that it is also possible that another duck who is seen as being great while playing there could see the same results as Penner (though in line with his own particular stats/skills) were he forced to play our style of game.

This might be another reading comprehension thing for you to work on. I said "might become the next Dustin Penner" as in might fall down to earth and become an average player like Penner did after having several excellent seasons. The comparison is that they were both "mighty" ducks who were over rated and could end up with similar career paths.

This was written in relation to the original posters statement that said that Getzlaf might be the best player in the western conference.

I clearly wasn't comparing their individual abilities on a game to game season to season point for point basis and that really should be easy enough to see.

You keep swinging at the pinata though, its fan to watch you fail.

;)

You know I'm going to refrain from taking the bait on your obvious flaming...because for some reason, it's ok for others to do that, but not me.

Because once in a while can be overlooked. You however seem to make a sport out of it.

No he was talking about this player:

He's considered day to day, but Getzlaf hasn't had a great impact against Los Angeles in recent seasons. His lone goal in his last 13 games in the series came in the 7-4 win in February.
