That’s what happens when players are slotted out of position- Matheson is a solid #4 Dman @ 17-18TOI but not a 25TOI 1st pairing guy
Nah he was just as bad when he played 3rd pair in FLA or 2nd pair in Pittsburgh.

The number of total mistakes would be down but the rate would be the same. You dont become worse by playing more, you just play more and have more chances to f*** up.

It's rare for the Habs to be the team that capitalize when the puck is bouncing all over the place.

I’m just saying that he’s eating up minutes our other youngsters would have to absorb. Tough minutes that eat up young blueliners. I don’t think our younger players are ready to assume that load and I’d rather they not get shellacked.

I don’t see Matheson as a long term solution. He’ll be dealt this year or next.

It was SO important to find someone for Suzuki and Caufield
And when we drafted him, boy did we hope he could be the guy

Honestly hasn't looked out of place at all next to Nick
And he seemingly finds Caufield at will too

Let's hope he continues to be the guy that unlocks that line
While Dach can center his own line (and maybe even share Caufield)
Oh no............you know what you have done...............Rehabs is coming for ya!!

All jokes aside, Slaf has been fantastic since joining that line....nice to see him moving forward.
