I’m ok with that for a hockey trade. But who’s gonna give us a good young power forward that is pretty cost controlled?
I mean edmonton could use a Buch their depth sucks

The risk with trading for futures will apply here as well. And that’s where the Rangers would have to be very careful if they go that direction.

But you could be looking at a situation where they go for a youngish player who hasn’t put all the pieces together yet.

What’s the point in leaving that first unit out for all that time? They didn’t generate a single thing, couldn’t maintain possession let alone generate a scoring chance. And then they’re all completely gassed with an OZ faceoff and 30 seconds left and instead of changing and taking advantage of the tired Caps, we leave our tired unit, who did absolutely nothing, out there.

Could’ve had fresh legs out there for the last 30 seconds. Couldn’t have tried Laf, Kakko, Chytil, Gauthier, Blackwell/Rooney and Trouba? Really?
Spamming the first unit until they're bent over trying to breathe. Great strategy and it always works.

Ended up being fairly close.

Difference in the game was that Ovechkin goal that deflected 69 times and went in from no angle.

Having 8 shots through 38 minutes didn't help either.

I'm glad they showed some fight to at least make it interesting. Took a blow out and made it a prettier loss but it makes you wonder whether they were really gassed through 2 or just completely disconnected. Washington completely f***ing off after they went up 4-0 helped but we had better jump in the 3rd from the start.

Yes, and Lafreniere. They got better away from Chytil.

Chytil is still doing that thing where he's Kopitar for awhile and then he's this for awhile.

I'm starting to fear that's what he is.

I feel like I’ve been at that point for a while with him. Just these lingering doubts he’s quite the player some hope he is. He’ll have those spurts, but I just don’t know if all the pieces are under the hood either.

Distinct possibility. Though the Rangers might also be included to leave him at center if they are acquiring a center.
I would say for it to be the other way around,( Trade Chytil for Center and keep Buch ) but we need 'controlled contracts' like Chytils.

Pertaining to Chtyil, my hope was Zibs at the beginning of the year.... now it's Kreider.

He's just not a good playmaker and has suspect vision/IQ imo. Put him on wing and let him flyy

It’s just so counter productive. And it’s not even like they’re buzzing and creating tons of chances so you need to keep them out there bc it feels like they’re about the break through.

No, this is a day where they barely did anything as a unit sans the Kreider goal and did even less in the last two minutes. Just makes no sense.

They dig themselves a deep hole that is hard to climb out of. The slow starts and the bad finishes are very much on DQ. Those are very fair criticisms.

And this is a weird team too. They pushed back against a top team in Washington, and didn’t do enough in their last game against Philly.
