Almost completely ineffective, just another body so far. Should have kept what we had that we knew worked since the terms of both were so close. Hope this "better fit" finally better fits.

I agree we let Eriksson go and took in Backes who makes 8 million and will be 33 this season. Eriksson was way better with Krech, made the powerplay work and was a good possession and Pk guy. But but he did not hit or fight so he is not a Bruin player.

Leadership and physicality was what they thought they needed and expected a 20% reduction in production,I'd say. At this point last year Loui had 13 goals and 17 assists while Backes now has 7 goals and 9 assists. Shoulda/woulda/coulda.

Criticize Backes all you want but I still wouldn't of given Eriksson a 6-year deal.

Perhaps the prudent move would of been to sit out free agency, even though I admit I fully supported/advocated the Backes move.

Had I known Claude would use him almost exclusively as a winger I might of thought differently.

To me he was the perfect center compliment to 37 and 46 and could of taken some of the defensive burden off both, especially Krejci, allowing Claude to use the Krejci line in a more offensive role against lesser lines/pairings.

Eriksson 6 8 14 -8

Backes 7 9 16 -1

Actually lot of things I like. Get Bergeron healthy , Vatrano in shape and Pastrnak back a 8-10 game winning streak after New Years my take

Add kids in Early March after 60 games in AHL

Trending up is the way I see this season

Definitely over 95 points

So which Claude binkies are coming out of the line-up to make way for these AHL kids?

No kidding

You add 2 young scorers in Vatrano & Pastrnak back in

Get Bergeron healthy

Rask has been great and so hasn't McIntyre in the A

The D is coming along

A bunch of the forwards in the AHL show me viewing they could help in a couple of months

It's evolving but they are getting closer to good than bad and then to very good

The recent records against cellar dwelling teams is shockingly bad. Makes zero sense that they find a way to put up really good efforts against front running teams and yet are so shockingly bad with struggling teams like with the Isles last night. It has been a problem area in the past as well. The push, or lack of it, in the last number of games down the stretch last season suggests the problem does run deeper in the organization for whatever reason. Baffling!

How does Bergeron magically get healthy while playing every night? He looks pedestrian it's not cool

Same way Pacioretty played on a broken foot and got healthy. I'm positive that the doctors would tell him not to play if it's not going to heal.

Share your view. The waiting for it to fall in place can be so painful to watch at times. Little of that fast food mentality with wanting it right now is at play and it's not just with the Bruin's. Suffering fans bases all over the league are wanting that future to arrive. It can't happen soon enough and in the meantime understandably frustration does set in.

He will also get breaks during the All-star weekend, and the Bruins by-week whenever that occurs.

Every little bit helps.

How many all Stars are fan voted, versus named by the league? He is one of the top five vote getters in the division right now. If he somehow makes the team, I can't imagine he would go this year, but doesn't that also mean he would have to sit out the first game after?

If healthy, these guys should have spots for sure:

Bergeron
Krejci
Pastrnak
Backes
Marchand
Moore

That's 6

Vatrano I expect will be in, as will Czarnik

That's 8.

Belesky is also very likely, although he'll need to perform.

That's 9.

Spooner should be in if he's still here, which is likely.

That's 10

Schaller might tail off a bit, but he's shown enough to warrant a spot.

That's 11

So now you have a battle among Blidh/Hayes/Nash/Acciari/Heinen/Kuraly/Debrusk/Cehlarik/NCAA FA/NCAA prospect.

My money right here today is on Blidh. Really liking what I've seen out of him.

But we can't discount Claude's love for Zero-zone Nash and No-goal Acciari.

to me, the biggest problem is david krejci.... the HIGHEST PAID PLAYER ON THIS TEAM! i cant stand watching him. sticking him with backes over and over again is obviously not working.. backes needs to be a center.. atleast give him a shot.. then we can spread our lines out a little more and get ice time down for our other centers. bergy can go back to his old ways. and krejci.. well he can do us all a favor and give us a list of teams he can be traded to. krug is pressing wayyy too hard. i get it, your supposed to be offensive but backfoot wristers from the blue line is not getting it done... play morrow , drop killer.

marchand-bergy-czarnik
spooner-backes-pasta
vatrano-krejci-belesky
acciari-moore-schaller

go tell blidh to work on his offensive game in providence
tell hayes to go get claimed
let nash be the extra man
