Watch this at the 6:24 min mark. In the span of a second, Kastelic makes a picture perfect bank pass off the board to Hyman, who immediately one-times the bank towards the net. At the 6:23 mark Swayman is still looking in the corner battle, he doesn't get a chance to get set for the shot, he's turning his head as Hyman is shooting. Kastelic gets his stick in the way, McAvoy does a flamingo in front of the net and it squeezes through.

Sorry I just don't see that play as a soft goal. Bang-bang play on a shot with plenty of zip on it. 6:23 the puck is in a scrum in the corner, 6:25 it's in the back of the net.

Mcavoy is such a wrecking ball. A knack for keeping both teams in the game.

Linus is hot.....playing against mostly bad teams
And Swaymam plays Florida every night does ge ?

I'll give the Bruins credit they were not blown out. There is no doubt Edmonton has more high end talent which in the end proved to be the difference. Boston did have opportunities to extend the lead, but alas, once again the could not. No shame in this loss. They should be proud of the way they played and at the same time frustrated. A game they can build upon. If this team could play every game the way they played last night, they would win far more than they lose.

Both Swayman and Raycroft thought it was a soft goal.

Line changing is on the players, not the coach.
Players are taught to put the puck deep into the zone b/f changing. Often the coach whistles to the players when he wants to change. They gave up a third on this road trip doing the same thing. The coach should be yelling to the players not to change or at least getting the players off the bench much quicker. These changes were VERY slow. Bad line changes have always been considered a coach issue.

That's funny.

Pasta makes bad decisions because of his high hockey IQ.
IQ and decision-making are different things.
People who are very creative can often run into option paralysis. They can imagine lots of options and courses of action, but then might have trouble deciding which one is best.

Disagree.

Not at the NHL level.

Disagree. I'm doing a lot of that here today.

To me making the correct decision is exactly what hockey IQ is.

Again, aside from a terrible WPG game, he's got solid numbers over his last 10 starts.

aside from a game he stunk ? A side from the soft goals, ......let's just count his good games and good saves. Ha!
No secret here . For the first time in atleast fifteen years the Bruins have a problem in net ... And his name is Jeremy Swayman.

I’ll do my best Peter Puck for you.

McAvoy passed to Marchand, Marchand passed to Lindhom who then shot and scored. Therefore McAvoy and Marchy draw they assists.

Marchand didn't pass to Lindholm.

He tried to pass the puck out front to Brazeau but it bounced off the Oilers defensemen back the other way to Lindholm.

But in current NHL standards, a pass made, shot made then deflection to a player that score is an assist. I agree with you though.... standards are low standards.

Swayman does have the capacity to go on a run of 5-6 games and materially improve his numbers. If you deny that you're being dishonest, don't be that guy PaulD. I enjoy your input here as a Has fan, but don't lose sight of reality in case you picked Swayman
in a fantasy league and he is killing you.

1 game in his last 10. A game where every single guy on the team sucked. The Bruins don't have a problem in net.

Korp has played the easier opponents for the most part. Hasn't faced a lot of teams with a p% over .500 the last time I checked

Except IQ tests are usually timed, because making high pressure decisions in a fast manner is a form of intelligence. So decision making and executive functioning are parts of IQ for sure.
