They made the right decision if they were moving on from one of them.

It may of been the wrong decision to move Ullmark to a divisional opponent but we don't know what else was out there in terms of trade interest.
I think this too - his list of teams he was willing to go to was most likely limited. Didn’t Sweeney have him on the way to LA at one point and Linus said no? He probably wanted to stay on the east coast (Started in Buffalo…..then to Boston…..now Ottawa….)

The 2 goals the Oilers got in regulation, should never have gone in, the first one was on Swayman that was an awful goal to let in, the second one is on the Defense, where are they and why let McDavid keep pounding at the puck? You have to out McDavid on his backside and not let him continue to poke at it. Glad they let Johnson go, but they still need to make some deals.
They were deep because the forwards turned the puck over at the red line instead of dumping it in. So not only were they deep they were flat footed. That’s a horrible spot to put your D.

Also, McDavid scored on his initial shot. It went thru Swayman’s legs. His second swipe was at nothing, the puck was already in the net.

Just finished up watching the game and my take is this team is pretty dam good! They play like this most of the way they can beat anyone. Unfortunately on that tieing goal, The Bruins we’re exhausted after back to back icings, maybe Sacco should of used a time-out as all of coyle, Pasta and Frederic were exhausted and basically they just left the puck and scrampered for a change, and when they finally got it out of their zone, all three went for the change. Not to load up on tfred but if he goes and plays the puck he gets it imo.

If Sweeney can bring in a legit top six, I really think this team can beat anyone.

Also they need to shoot the freakin puck both Coyle and Pasta in the third were all alone in the slot, and they pass!! Wahlstrom looked good, made a few real nice defensive plays and didn’t look out of place.

OT goal, same thing the Bruins were spent and Swayman should of hung onto that puck and Pasta gone for a change but hey it’s easy from your lazy boy watching the game, the day after.

Now on to the Sens / Flames game.

I won't go so far as to say they can beat anyone. They haven't shown that yet. I still think they're a bubble team.

However I thought last night's performance was encouraging and one of their best so far this season. I also liked the way they've bounced back over the past two games, after getting absolutely drubbed in Winnipeg and Seattle.

I thought the Bruins played a very good game last night . I'm sure Sway would want the 1st goal back just like Skinner would like the Lindholm goal back.

I thought Wahlstrom played fairly well in limited TOI - I guess he hasn't learned the system yet :sarcasm:.

Please get Mac off the PP.

Bad change by Pasta in OT but he was spent .

Marchy with perhaps his worst game this season including the OT flyby which resulted in the winner.

Bruins bring this effort every game and they should stay in contention for a playoff slot.

Not impressed with Pasta this season passing up on shots in prime scoring areas. He is getting paid to score goals.
He's lazy changing was big reason for Edmonton's 2nd and 3rd goal. And why is he even on ice during last 5 minutes when Bruins is leading. Sacco should have extra practice for Pasta to just practice how to skate to line change.

So Swayman over his last 10 games:

2.67 GAA / .892 SV%

^Not a great look.....but if you take out the abomination of a game in WPG where everyone was awful:

2.10 GAA / .912 SV%

So aside from one really bad game, Swayman has been more than fine the last 10 games. Would you like to see a higher SV% from him? sure I'd love him to be closer to a .920 SV% but for some to be upset with Swayman when he's been solid over his last 10 games is insane.

Despite the loss, I considered last night overall a success. I would have been a lot more enthusiastic if it ended with 2 points. At the end of the day, I think Wahlstrom clearly has the skill and talent to play in our top 9 and possibly in the top 6 particularly over guys like Geekie or Brazzeau if they cool down.

I really thought that they played well enough for two points in regulation. They aren't as good as they need to be but they are trending in the proper direction.

Bruins played well, bitten once again by a poor line change on the tying goal.

Lindholm won 12 of 15 faceoffs and had a lucky deflection goal. Not sure how any assists were given on that one, let alone two.

Best game Carlo has had in a long time. He and Oesterle both +2.

"Holding" call on Lohrei one of the worst of the season.

I assume you are kidding, Hyman even looked shocked that he scored on that shot. If you think Swayman had no chance on that weak shot from a bad angle with no traffic then the Bruins are truly screwed in nets.

No I'm not joking. That wasn't a weak shot and he had zero chance to react to that bang-bang play out of the scrum in the corner.

McDavid never touched the puck a second time or moved Swayman. It was a goal Sway man needed to stop. Not as bad as first goal but half needs to stop it.

Just curious why you think that. I thought it was very stoppable, but he might have been caught off guard a bit by the turn over and quick shot.

Bang-bang play on a quick hard shot when that puck came out of the scrum in the corner. Almost no chance to react in time to make a save. Either it hits him or it doesn't.

Disagree.

No screen, plenty of time to react.

Looked like he was off balance for some reason. Puck went right under his pad.

I usually lean on the side of the goalie, but in this case I'm with you. That first goal is one you want him to save. It looks like he's playing to take away the short side (which I fully get) and it leaves the far side open, which is where it ends up heading, hitting his skate and going in.

The negatives to last night are obvious and discussed enough by others so I'll go positives. Kastelic's power move on the goal was Neely like circa 1987. Not saying he's another Neely just sayin' thanks for the memory. Stick positioning was excellent in all three zones, Carlo and Geekie were good in this department. Two goals were never going to win this one but it's hard to put the puck in the ocean when you're playing far away on the cold prairie plains of Alberta.

Yeah fair enough, it's one I'd like him to have but can't place too much blame on the goalie when our clear ends up right on Hyman's stick
