There's absolutely no snipe on this current edition of the roster other than Rantanen.

I'd rather see Kaut on the ice than Newhook. And that ain't good 'cause both should be in Bednar's doghouse. (Oh, that's right Alex is playing center these days....

LOC is LIS (Lost In Space).

Meyers is all speed and no finish.

What happened to Foudy? Eagles??

Georgie(v) is playing fairly decent goal... for getting repeatedly thrown to the barbarians by his mates. Same for Frankie. Personally find his/their play mostly inspiring.. plus preferring to find the upsides in a team that just won the Cup but is gasping for air. This kids will be allright.

I didn't think Alex Newhook was very good tonight yet he led all Avs skaters in Corsi and was 2nd behind Rodrigues in xGF.

Strange. The Avs only had 4 skaters below 50% Corsi tonight, one of which was MacDermid who played 3 minutes so he doesn't count. They just couldn't generate many dangerous opportunities and the Coyotes also blocked everything.

Oh, I forgot to add that whoever trades for Shayne Gostisbehere is going to get a fantastic offensive defensemen. The Coyotes should be asking for a big haul for his services at the TDL.

I thought the Avs dominated after the 1st period but Arizona scored on all the opportunities. Pretty sure we win this game if the 3-3 goal counted.

Setting entitled fan stuff aside coming off of an incredibly enjoyable season and Cup run, it has made this season especially jarring. The fun factor we're used to has been wiped away almost completely. They've gone from the league's elite at 5v5 to arguably the worst. Sucks man, but what are you gonna do? They clearly gave it their all and then some for the run and even if they somehow miss the playoffs completely this year as a result it'll still be worth it.

Yep, glad we won the Cup. But man it's been a painfully boring season to watch. Haven't had close to full roster all season so it's tough to say what they are even capable of.

But right now we are a glorified AHL team that struggles to do anything of value on a consistent basis. We hope for PP goals, which hasn't happened much since 29 has been out, and then we wait for 96 to make something happen. Then if all else fails we hope and pray George bails us out, which he has been doing a lot lately.

It's bad when our best call up, Kaut, has 3 pts in 21 games. At a certain point these assholes have to do something of value. They've got be better than this trash. They've had plenty of ice time, got to start producing something.

I'll politely disagree, I think you meant worst. Englund is terrible, can't skate, can't shoot, bad passer and is consistently out of position. Does ok at hitting and blocking the occasional shot. He's not even the best dman call up. Hunt is much better.

If we're looking at best overall its either Myers or Foudy by a wide margin. I used Kaut though as he technically has scored the most points if any of our call ups.

I know it sucks seeing so many injuries, but glorified AHL teams don't come into a game on December 27th tied for 3rd in the Central division.

The team is fine. They are keeping pace despite the rash of injuries.

That was painful to watch.
The Yotes seemed to score from everywhere and no matter the pressure again we cannot finish at all.
I have no idea how our guys suddenly turned masters of shooting in the logo, wide or low on the pads again.
Last year we were much better picking the corners.

Anyway a bad game by us, but confidently I can say that even with this game we shouldve won this.

Hope Nate is back soon and then lets ride a 0.6 W%. Should be good enough for 3rd seed in Central.

I am actually excited by our 3rd 4th future lines like looking at this but yes today they are awful.

Hook - JTC - Malgin actually could end up being a decent 3rd line.

Cogs - Helm/Myers - LOC will be a great motor 4th line that will just wear down teams.

Throw today's tape away and move on. It was just that bad.

Maybe it's just me but I can't stand 88. Brings litteral nothing to the table. 1 assist (pretty sure it was a secondary), 15 games, minus player.

JJ was significantly better, would much prefer him.

Meyers and Foudy for sure are the best call ups. Not sure why Foudy still isn't getting a chance here, he at least was giving a solid effort every night trying to make plays.

I don’t get it either. I don’t think he’s great by any means but he’s holding his own.

Fine, not great. There’s flashes of speed and skill but it’s just not quite coming together. I don’t mind that trade at all though, he’s got more to his game than Hunt did.
