Why is Buchnevich, our leading point getter and most consistent forward this year, not getting time on the first PP unit?

It doesn't make sense why one of the most talented players on the team is on the 2nd PP unit with players who struggle to score.
Because their is an obvious hatred and bias against Lefties for the pp1. I mean it would make too much sense.

I still feel giving the kids their own line is a good thing. I think Laf and Kakko play in deference whenever they're with the big four.

As long as they get GOOD minutes it's a good thing. Also put Kakko on the PP already and tell the coaches to come up with some fresh ideas.

Can we withstand teams like Washington in a 7 game series? Please dont tell me we beat them in the regular season... how'd that work for us against Carolina.

Does Mika look like Daron Malakian of System of the Down to anyone else?

I don't think Rantanen is a lot faster, but he is definitely stronger. Did you see the bomb Mikko scored against the Wild? Kakko has to take some Mikko lessons on shooting/finishing too.
I saw the game, I was a fan of Rantanen and thus Colorado before Kakko so yeah, thoroughly enjoyed that one.

I was more about the fact that Mikko improved his skating a lot during basically one off season. Just hired a skating coach, and improved drastically. Barkov also did the same one year. And probably Kakko should as well.

Rantanen and Kakko do train together so hopefully he'll get some tips from Rants in the future as well.

we were heavily outplayed but i’m happy with the result. i find our structure much more noticeable. some good things are going

i’m kinda sick of blackwell. not enough to take him out or anything but definitely at least a demotion. kills lots of plays with his poor instincts

leapt out of my seat at that Zib goal. f***ing awesome
After this game Kakko deserves to be bumped up.

What a mismatch. Wish we used Hajek.

We've been putting up with Ovechkin for 15 years and this is the least noticeable he's ever been against the Rangers, but f*** Adam Fox because a guy with 720 goals got a couple last night.

Im not saying f*** Adam Fox. He is one of the best players on the team. I was pointing out that there should be context when analyzing statistics.

I have Fox as our second most important player after Panarin in regards to the teams success. He is already a legitimate top pair defense man in his second season in the league.

No need to overreact. Ovechkin has had his way with the Rangers his entire career, and even at old age is lighting the lamp. My comment was more a testament to Ovechkin's ability to capitalize on his scoring chances rather than Fox's ability to limit scoring chances.

Hajek is great at making the 1st pass. We need that

That Zib goal was the first “big” goal we’ve scored in a while. Really felt like playoff games both nights.

I’m easily rewatching that 10 times tonight.

it took rantanen some time to become what he is. We need to be patient with these players

We still have a long way to go, but we're a different team defensively than we were last year. We're 9th in the league in GAA and 3rd in PK. With Mika going again, the offense will continue to improve. Hopefully Shesty comes back, plays well and stays healthy.

Ok but the comment I was replying to said it was a mismatch and that they would rather have Hajek out there for some reason.

I think all of us here agree that the power play units should be mix and matched.

Watching Howden play over Julien Gauthier is straight up PAIN.

We do not need Howden for his “PKing ability”.

Blackwell, Rooney, Zib, Buch

Those are your PKers. And in a pinch you have Strome and even Kreider.

We do not need Brett Howden.

Goat would be playing if he didn't commit 2-3 penalties a game. He needs to stop that.
