In the AHL apparently. So when can we put Will Smith on PP1 please
I think the bigger issue is that Celebrini and Eklund are the only guys who can enter the zone with the puck at speed. The power play is what happens when you put players on the ice with no actual players to play certain parts of the power play. Walman is the only player that is on unit one that can play a specialized position. When Celebrini is back it adds the qb of the power play.
Right now there is no qb, no shooter, no playmaker.
Toffoli is a shooter. Ek and Granlund are bother above average playmakers. On a 5-3 you don't need designated guys. You just need a little bit of competency. The power play is what happens when you put players on the ice with no actual players to play certain parts of the power play. A 5 on 3 and 5 on 4 should not be played much differently, just one being closer to the net then the other.Toffoli is a shooter. Ek and Granlund are bother above average playmakers. On a 5-3 you don't need designated guys. You just need a little bit of competency.
A 5 ON 3 you can be a little choosier on your shot selection as there's significantly more ice.A 5 on 3 and 5 on 4 should not be played much differently, just one being closer to the net then the other.
Seriously. Now that Mack is hurt the only exciting thing we have is Smith. He’s the Lambo in a field of Chrysler minivans (Eklund is a Town and Country with low miles, to be fair). And what do we get? Endless laps from the minivans around the track, and then 27 seconds of the Lamborghini driving in reverse over speed bumps (Kostin).
Weak.
Yes but the basic concepts of the powerplay doesn't change, just the setup gets closer to he net as like you said there is more ice open.A 5 ON 3 you can be a little choosier on your shot selection as there's significantly more ice.
Always good to yank a teenager for every mistake they make. Definitely doesn't ruin guys' development.Smith just got pulled off the last 25 of the power play.
Luke couldn't hit the net even if he had the Force at his disposal.Luke Luke Luke
I know it's early but I'm starting to think War isn't as smart as I thought he was.Always good to yank a teenager for every mistake they make. Definitely doesn't ruin guys' development.
Exactly the reason why he should be the A.Always good to yank a teenager for every mistake they make. Definitely doesn't ruin guys' development.
That was dumb coachingSmith just got pulled off the last 25 of the power play.
This is why I always wanted with Celebrini out, put Smith and Walman on the points, Toffoli net front and then Granlund and Eklund. Makes zero sense having Zetterlund at the point, he is a net front/bumper guyIf Toffoli is the net front guy, why is Zetterlund on PP1?
So you're to blame for Luke biffing that last shot?I would tell Kunin to hit the net but he'd just smash that post again
