The sky isn't falling, but - and i'm pretty sunshiney for the most part - there was not a single moment tonight i felt like we were a real threat to score.

That's suboptimal.
Same shit different year for this team. It's every bit as bad as we looked last year, and that was with Svech and Turbo.

The team needed Raanta to play head and shoulders above his norm tonight to keep it a game. The second he regressed to norm, the flood gates opened. Which ain't great when you just don't trust anyone on this roster to contribute in the scoreboard every night and a powerplay that is straight up atrocious

Well, for what it’s worth, every Team has bad games and the Playoffs are the ultimate ebb & flow of performance due to the desperation of the opponent.

I know your Boys are banged up & missing critical pieces. That being said, I’m certainly not betting against the Canes to win this series.

What’s been consistent across the last 3 series and 4 of the last 5? 2-0 series lead. Game 3 is effectively an elimination game for the opposing team. A season on line effort on home ice comes with that. They were on the opposite side of this against Washington in 2019.

Once the ball starts rolling, they need to figure out a way to stop it, though.

People saying aho needs to step up his game must not realize he’s playing with ahl nhl borderline guy in drury and Jarvis who’s what 20? Like aho can’t carry this whole team. What other first line centres in the playoffs right now have 2 wingers like Jarvis and drury playing with them lol

Possible, but being able to dictate the matchups should NOT matter this much.
I think there are some very significant skill issues with this team, the conversations about which many are not ready to have.

But our offensive scheme is atrocious. Our PP should not be a consistent dumpster fire this time of year every season and yet it is. Allows teams to goon it up against us and we cannot make them pay. But we look like a bunch of f***ing midgets trying to dryhump a doorknob with the man advantage and our coach adamantly refuses to do a goddamn thing to address it.

Skill issues because we’re down 3 top six forwards which is forcing guys to play out of there places. Drury and Noesen are not top 6 forwards on a Stanley cup contending team

We literally just had to not shit the bed for the last 5 min and score 2 f***ing goals in a game and it easily could have been 3-0. That ending was unacceptable and they need to have their asses chewed out and go back to the hotel crying, absolute embarrassment to end that game

When did the Canes stop trying centers on wing? Why not throw an Aho-Staal-Fast line out? Couldn't hurt at this point. I remember Laviolette and Maurice trying this in desperate days and it working well when not expected, at least for a couple games to turn a series.

Nobody wanted to pay a late first round pick to get Bertuzzi… 4 points 3 games so far and has been effective. Sure would of looked good playing first line instead of drury

Aho staal fast is almost less skilled then aho Jarvis drury don’t see the point

Aho is not a top 5 problem or even top 10 problem but even when healthy and when this team is not front running, his play leaves a lot to be desired. But like I said, he's the best we have and realistically can have for the foreseeable future so what can we really do? No one criticizing seems to offer a realistic alternative, probably because there isn't one.

I do worry about how this will affect re-signing him. The team is going to have to make some major moves both on ice and behind the bench to keep him around, IMO.
