He cant. His talent and moves are not there anymore it seems. Not only this game. It has been like this All year. I dont know what He did or did not in the offseason but it had an impact on his game whi is just disappointing. One example: He shoots this stupid wristl wr from 2 miles instead of coming closer to the net and then shoot or dangle. Once He was quite good at it actually. Svech work this offseason on your fundamental, stickhandling, skating and edge work. In his juniorhockey time é had suh a good and fast lateral movement with the Puck. Every Thing which made him one of the best young Talents is gone. Now He seems so onedimensional ad clueless. Svech common, pls as soon as you return home, go to the ICE and train Till your skills are back again. You can Do it!!!!
A big Fan of Svech.

Svech looks like a young man whose body growth has impacted his coordination, speed, etc.

My hope is that a good off season will change the script.

btw: he's only 21 so there's that.....

My Sling recording cut off a few minutes into overtime, so I missed everything after about the 69 minute mark. I mostly agree with Rod - well-played game. It was a bit of an uphill battle with the officiating, but not the worst I've seen (at least not in the part of the game that I saw). I also missed game 2, so I might be missing some context. That being said, I worry that bitching about it will only make it worse. Either way, I suppose that'll cost him or Dundon another $25,017.00.

Still, it's a series. Get the split in game 4 and then there's three chances to close it out.

What I don't see being mentioned is that due to all these penalties certain guys will be exhausted leading to more mistakes and other guys will get way less toi making it harder to find their game.

Svech is probably a good example. With almost a whole period on the pk his toi has to be lowish and its hard to get going sitting on the bench that long.

In my years of watching hockey, I’ve never seen a team take so many damn penalties as we have recently. Some of it is clearly our fault, and quite a few others I don’t agree with. I know that this is a dead-horse topic on this forum, but these penalties somehow someway have to f-ing stop! Emotions are high and Nashville knows they can somewhat knock us off our game if they keep us in the sin bin.

With Rod's comments likely fueling the fire I think they're just gonna have to be as disciplined as they possibly can. That's a tall order given the refs have them under a microscope but it is what it is. Soldier on.

"It's tough. I thought we worked really hard. We had a ton of chances to finish that game," Pesce said. "It's not a good feeling, but every team goes through adversity. It's a long playoff run, and I think this is going to make us stronger."
The Canes, Brind'Amour said, had nothing to hang their heads about. The immediacy of the loss stung, no doubt, but moving forward in the series? The Canes are just fine.
"Everybody played their ass off tonight," Brind'Amour said.
The goal was Pesce's first career tally in the postseason and his fourth point in the first three games of this series.
"The guy has been an absolute animal," Staal said. "With a big guy out, man has he stepped up and played well. He's done everything. Another great game by him. He battles hard. You've got to love it. He's awesome."

Chip going after members of the organization for speaking the truth about this series seems like a poor business decision
Chip doesn’t work for the team and we have arguably the most homer announcers in the league. Tripp without John has been unleashed all year and Big Rig has his hands full learning the gig. He’s not going to reign it in and at times plays along with it.

Max Lajoie made his Stanley Cup Playoffs and Hurricanes debut in Game 3. He paired with Jani Hakanpaa on defense and, in his first NHL action since Dec. 2019, he logged three shots on goal, one additional attempt, a hit and a blocked shot in 16:54 of ice time.
"He did great. He didn't look out of place," Brind'Amour said. "He looked great. That's a tough spot to throw him in, but I thought he was good."
"The kid played really well. I thought he skated well and made the right decisions when he had the puck. He just played steady, and that's what you want," Staal said. "He showed great poise and good skating ability."
Quote of the Night

"I think our group is going to rebound and come out with an even better effort next game." - Jordan Staal

I guess my question is:

If coaches believe the officials are favoring the other team in terms of penalty calling, why do they believe publicly questioning the official’s ability to do their job will somehow fix that?

Like, on a hockey level, I get why they do that. They’ve got to show faith in their team, back their players, make it seem like there’s some X factor out of their control to explain the loss. I get that.

But if they’re wanting any actual change in how penalties are called, basically calling the refs incompetent seems like it’d have the opposite effect.

This is what I'm curious about, too. And, I honestly don't know the answer. If Rod is getting a rep as a "whiner" as some have speculated, will more "whining" help?

I guess we'll find out lol. But, I definitely get his gripe either way.
