It's not that Laval isn't able to generate anything on the PP. But with all these chances, you'd hope they'd score on one of them. Because at some point, it'll get balanced and Crunch will get consecutive PPs.

condotta on the PP makes overlords a sad boy

He's effective in front of the net. On that spot, you don't always have the most skilled, but sometimes just someone who can create some havoc.

He has the offensive awareness of a fire hydrant. Fighting for all that space in front of the net is nice but you have to not look so surprised when someone puts the puck right through the paint and you don't even have your stick down.

The surprised look is his natural look.

Kaskisuo has been very good so far!

Is he wearing Team Sweden's jersey under the Rockets'? You can see yellow at the collar level and his jersey seems to have yellow tones on close ups, saw what seems like blue lines on his arms

I get that Trudeau gets his stick to the hips so it's a hooking. But in no way did he hook him into Kaskisuo. The Crunch player simply went into him. So he should have been called for goalie interference, too.

I didn't see any hook. He touched him with his stick. Not a penalty.

For a guy who hasn't played since last March, he's playing real well.

His gear are yellow.

Also, he's a Finn, so in no way would he ever wear Sweden colors.

But that these days is a hook. You don't have to get your stick in there and pull back like before, just having the stick around the hip areas are called for hooking.

Makes sense. Googled him earlier and saw he played in Leksand, 1+1=2, didn't search more.

Thanks :)

Who the hell is Kaskisuo, where does he come from ? he's been great.

He's Finnish. And he played the last two years in Sweden (played with Heineman one year). Before that, he was an AHL goalie who was showing NHL promise. But when the pandemic hit, he left North America to go back to Europe. And now he's back.

His last game was last March. So for a guy who hasn't played in 9 months, he's been solid.

Kaskisuo shows us what a strong and confident goalie looks like. It can only help the young Rocket players and help Dobes who will have less pressure.

If Dobes plays more like he has lately and Kaskisuo gives us these kinds of performances, Laval should have a better chance at climbing back into a playoff spot.

And now that their forwards have started coming back from injury, they'll be more of a full line-up and should do well offensively.

He played for years with the Marlies. I remember his NHL game with the Leafs. 6 goals against but they were brutal in front of him that night.

It's good to see they finally brought in an AHL veteran in nets to help out.

Any reason? Was he injured?

And I've been out of the loop, why is he in Laval? Someone injured?

No he wasn't injured. I think his contract was up in the SHL. And he didn't sign anywhere.

They brought him in because Laval needs a vet goalie. No one was hurt. But Dobes is a rookie and Mann is a second year pro. The two young goalies tandem wasn't working. They needed to bring in a vet.

The last two years, we had Primeau as the young #1, but he was backed up by vet Kevin Poulin.

I hope it's a lesson for Habs management not to go with two young goalies again. Especially when the guy you want to develop is a rookie.
