congratulations! your Antti Niemi evolved into Makiniemi!

shout out to the guy behind one of the benches wearing Vancouver Grizzlies merch. Wrong sport and a team that doesn't exist anymore*, but I still miss the Grizzlies. Stupid NBA and stupid David Stern with his ridiculous "we screwed up there so we can't go back for... reasons" attitude in the wake of the relocation.

What's happening to Ozzie Wiesblatt? Upto this point I bet San Jose wishes they has taken JJ Peterka instead. But Hindsight is 20-20
Wiesblatt simply doesn't generate any offense. He might turn into a 4th line pest, but that's probably his ceiling.

As for Merkley, I was mostly joking about the Sharks' new GM's apparent propensity for acquiring bigger guys. Merkley is something like 5'10", 185, he's not big but not a liability in terms of size. His real issue is his relatively slow processing speed and dislike of shooting, but I think the consensus is that his defensive liabilities aren't really that bad (they're not great, and if he's not generating offense they'll be unplayable) and he's pretty special when he has the puck and is probably the best puckmoving defenseman in the entire organization, save Karlsson. He just need to improve his pace of play and shoot more.

...

I also think that was Gadjovich's first NHL goal from a legitimate shot of his own, rather than a deflection.
