Fired or not in the future, Marty is literally the perfect coach for this team at this time, in my opinion.
If the goal is a bottom 3 finish sure.
If the goal is to build something great I don’t think so.

Losing culture can kill us.

Every year a teams add players through the draft not just us

Guhle is overrated, he's not that good. Struble is better right now.
Put Struble with Barron and see what happens. Guhle could use some reduced icetime IMO.
I'm not worried about Guhle he's simply been overtaxed.
Part of his apprenticeship will be learning how to keep his strength and energy up for a complete season.
The thing that concerns me is he doesn't look stronger than last season (that can't happen) and overtaxed=susceptible to injury.

Bergevin coaches would scratch and bench. But the mandate then was to win games.

Now it is to lose games, I guess? I don’t know anymore.
Lol... I has confusion too. I just want to be in da playoffs. This rebuild won't do anything anyway. Let's get more free agents and eliminate the leafs in the first round. I loved that.

Besides slaf ( who I think he’s doing a great job with)
All those players are NHL players and would benefit from playing in a real system. Same goes for Suzuki

I believe a system will actually stunt their growth at this juncture and will make us move up the standing too quickly, not into contention but into no mans land. No one wants to be there.

Yeah that’s the NHL now. Can’t hurt anybody’s feelings or they’ll ask for a trade
It’s more about letting the player feel in charge of his outcomes. Competitive teams can’t afford to feed TOI to underproductive players but we don’t have anyone to play instead of Caufield and don’t have pressure to win. So let him play through it.

Also the emotion thing, yeah, you don’t wanna burn the guy just starting his eight year mega deal on his first slump.

Again, if this is purely for draft placement I get you.
But buffalo did the same thing with Nolan and it really hurt them.

You need to go through the growing pains of learning how to win while we still have some guys that can pass the torch

Nonsense. Absent game-breaking talent you play a system that neutralizes the opponent’s talent and evens the odds. The NZ Trap for instance.

But that’s not what we want…

The only non sense is to believe that there is a system out there that would make up for multiple fatal flaws. Underskilled, soft, small isn't something you overcome by playing the f***ing trap.

No it’s babying. You over analyze this. There’s hardly ever any accountability anymore. It’s all everybody worrying what other people think. MSL is too soft to do anything because of that

I think Ylonen deserves to play more than Caufield.

someone above mentioned stunting Growth. Yes Struble deserves to Stay. Wifi in Minors? Not sure? Trades of defense for offense will happen, but who goes-Stays? Is Becomming Complicated.

Doesn’t have to be the trap. Coming up with a proper defensive game that can lead to proper transitions with speed would be huge.

They're going through the growing pains of learning to play in the league, and become better players. the process of winning comes later.

Some of these players have been in the NHL for 3 seasons now.

Your acting like these are kids

MSL’s comments about making Caufield a more complete player have me wondering if he’s inside Caufield’s head trying to over coach him. You should let your skill players be your skill players even if they do have some deficiencies. I had no problem with Cole playing the way he did after Ducharme was fired up until this season.

It’s all gonna be fine when Cc scores the 3 on 3 gimmick goal and we pretend he’s a top winger in the league
