He’s developing as a coach too. This season is a write off so whatever. It’s just painful to see a weak injured team be so hopeless. It’s only game 29…The lineup changes won’t do anything until St. Louis decides to coach.
Personally he should be in Burrows position and we should get a real HC like Berube
Nonsense. Absent game-breaking talent you play a system that neutralizes the opponent’s talent and evens the odds. The NZ Trap for instance. If you are fundamentally flawed (underskilled, soft, small) then a system isn't going to fix you.
I would more readily accept this if players showed progress. Largely, they have not shown year on year improvement.I know this is crazy but MSL is not here to "coach' a winner persay. he's here to develop.
Probably not. Pens got a lot of momentum and will get a few more calls in the third to get to their usual 5-1 ratioThis game is going to OT isn't it??
Develop what?
Players don’t suddenly learn how to be better at hockey. They’ve been developing since 8 years old.
Players find their groove from playing in a real system.
If hes here to develop that should be his role not head coach. He’s tanking the value of players
How are we not last ?Looks up
Yup another second period
Probably better to let him work through it, I figureBench CC unless it’s 3v3. Kid needs a wake up call

But that’s not what we want…

Right now esp.. recentcy bias, but guhle has had a lot of those rookie mistakes lately. Just hope he learns from them...and stops doing themGuhle is overrated, he's not that good. Struble is better right now.
I agree he’s learning on the job, but I disagree that any year should be a write off. He’s developing as a coach too. This season is a write off so whatever. It’s just painful to see a weak injured team be so hopeless. It’s only game 29…

Just No OT please.Still another period to lose.
Or win
You pay someone 7M to work through things... that looks very Bergevin likeProbably better to let him work through it, I figure
Besides slaf ( who I think he’s doing a great job with)What do you mean suddenly? You think Guhle, Slaf, Caufield, Barron, Dach, Newhook, et tal are all finished products?
Not benching players and being easy on losses is fine. But the individual players are not showing sufficient growth. That’s anti-development.What's it been almost 2 seasons with Marty? The whole team has been structured from the top down with development in mind, it's going to take more time.
I agree he’s learning on the job, but I disagree that any year should be a write off.
Pick something and focus on getting better at it.
So far everything is progressively worse.
It is what it is, I think he’ll be fired by this time next year. Which is a shame because I think he can be a good coach. He only got his job because he’s boys with the gm and French
Yeah that’s the NHL now. Can’t hurt anybody’s feelings or they’ll ask for a tradeProbably better to let him work through it, I figure
Bergevin coaches would scratch and bench. But the mandate then was to win games. You pay someone 7M to work through things... that looks very Bergevin like
Caufield is not a player that can carry the team unless he is surrounded with appropriate cast... and looks like he isn't. Hence he can't do jackshit. Besides, other teams know that they only have to shut down 2 players ... and they are both on the same line. easy peasy.
