I still don't understand how Pouliot went ahead of Marc Staal. I watched the Wolves for 2 seasons and you could see which of the two was the better option.

Kopitar is raptor jesus.

He was the first player evwer from Slovenia.

Also, this was the first draft where the rules on the rights of Euro drafted players changed. Before 05, teams had their rights until the players was 31.

Anze was the first Euro taken in that draft at 11

man Columbus has had some busts.

first to make to NHL.. there were several players drafted before...

but anyway.. he was top 5 on every scout list...

:shakehead Sutter is all abotu toughness and grit.

Penner should be playing over Nolan. I would like to see nolan before king though.

Difference between toughness and grit. The Kings are not going to get away from how they play because other teams are wasting roster spots on guys like Bissonette.

The Kings are a big and gritty bunch, but we accomplish that without needing to waste a roster spot on someone like Westgarth, Ivanans, Clune, Brennan, Flynn etc. like we have done in the past.

I hate seeing Clifford have to do all the heavy lifting with Nolan sitting. Coyotes are going to dress Bissonette and Torres. You don't trade Westgarth and sit Nolan and let a young kid like Clifford, who has already been knocked silly a few times have to handle all the lifting, he is proving that he too valuable a commodity. Dwight King is not DJ King either.

I wouldn't worry about Clifford at all. Bissonette rarely plays and adds nothing. Torres is being scrutinized and says he is trying to change his image, a la Matt Cooke. If the Yotes want to dress these two thugs they are going to have a short bench for the game and hopefully after the Kings grind them down by the third period, they'll be too tired and ripe for being scored against.

Any reason why he couldn't have his rookie year right out of the draft?

I hope that Nolan gets in tomorrow. Would be ncie to have some fresh legs. I actually would like to see Richardson go in as well for this reason.
Nolan tomorrow shoudl be able to prey on the weak and tired.

He didn't want to play in the NHL immediately. He wanted one more year in Sweden. Taylor and AM were all over him to play in 05

I wonder how Kopitar would have done as an 18 year old, he stepped in pretty seamlessly as a 19 year old the next fall.

I think with his size, smarts and skill he would have been fine, but that team wasn't making the playoffs with those two clowns between the pipes, so it probably wouldn't have saved AM's job (like he has joked a few times when discussing Kopi)

Nolan will get back in a game. Sutter likes the Kid.

They just want to see how the team looks with Toffoli.

Also with the way King/Stoll/Lewis have played lately, you don't want to mess with that line.

Would've loved to see him play with Demitra (RIP). Or Luc (imagine that!).

Completely agree. I saw in the Mercury News that Douglas Murray was quoted as saying that Clifford challenged him, not the other way around. Clifford was unhappy about a hit Murray had made on Kopitar a few shifts prior to the fight.

The Kings are plenty tough and gritty.

I still think against most teams in a 7-game series the Kings' forwards will grind most teams' defensmen down and win the series in that way.

I love reading Sutter's comments about Kopitar, but me personally, I haven't been satisfied with Kopitar's offensive game this year. He's capable of more.

I still think he plays better when he has a goal scoring mentality.

so it probably wouldn't have saved AM's job (like he has joked a few times when discussing Kopi)
I always laugh at that and how Larry Robinson said that same thing about Ziggy

Phoenix has also Morris and Doan who like to get in the face of the Kings. With Greene and Mitchell out, Westgarth traded and Nolan sitting the Kings are looking a little soft. Colin Fraser? A punching bag. Mike Richards? Come on.

Clifford has had to do all the heavy lifting the past few games and I don't like it especially after what happened with him a few years back when he had a few concussions from scraps with guys like Brookbank and Reaves. He is proving he is much more of a hockey player than just an enforcer.

You wait and see, Cliffy will get knocked silly and Kings will regret this.

Not worried about it, PHX has been terrible on the road.

Kings need a fast start, and just wax PHX in the first. PHX has played a lot of hockey lately. They are going to be tired come third period.

Every team plays the Kings "Tough"....The Kings man handle most of the league...

Not sure what your worried about Bro, the Kings are not rolling into any bar fights.

They play Hockey.

I would consider the Ducks the biggest baddest team after the Kings(grit, tough, wise).

Want to know the last team to smack the Ducks around in regulation ? ......The Kings.

Kings are starting to lost the playoff image by subbing in guys like Toffoli for Nolan.

Bad enough Greene and Mitchell were replaced by Muzzin and Ellerby...no offense to either but they are not stay at home, experienced guys who other teams hate playing agaisnt and respected through out the NHL.

dressing Nolan wouldnt have stopped Torres from running around like a fool anyway

Torres is not afraid of anyone, none of these Rat players are.

They don't care if they eat a few punches, just as long as they damaged one of your premier players.
