Outshot 34-14 with their best forward and best D out of the line up. We are so lucky again, thats great but this team is so way under performing. I know in years past Tip would win this way, but we had way less talent then we do now. How many lucky wins have we had this year, I can count 4 or 5 we should have lost, can't remember any we lost but deserved to win.

I am generally pretty optimistic, I just think this team is poorly coached and it shows every game lately.

Saw the highlight on YouTube of Kuemper stopping play, but doesn't look like much happened. What is the issue here? Wings fan in peace, just curious what happened.

We don't know exactly, our goalies are made of glass, one nick and they shatter:)

Had an injury (likely groin) a few games ago having to leave in the 3rd, came back and played against the Wild fine, probably tweaked it again tonight and had to come out (again).

A lot of heart from the team. I'm happy with the W even though we were out played.

They're the better team, when healthy they might be the best in the league. I'm just happy we didn't roll over like usual. I thought OEL was great, blocked a big shot at the end. 2 points. Chychrun was great as well.

Bounced back in the 3rd, we were still outplayed but we didn't break. I thought the whole defense did a good job that period. Not many blown assignments, didn't give up too many dangerous shots.

One cannot always win in a big and dominating way.
So this is totally fine.

He's owed $31.5m with some of it being bonus money the next three years. They need young players and picks. They need the captaincy back.

I think a move is an obvious win. It's just up to Oliver with his NMC. That's the problem.

The problem is that trading OEL, we need a defenseman back which then impacts the value of the additional trade components.

His salary, if you combine it with Chychrun is two top defensemen for a combined cost of £14M or an average of £7M each which is far more palatable.

As for the C, it sounds like Chychrun is gonna be a vocal leader regardless. I'd be wary of loading so much on him at a young age especially when he has a long history of trying to do too much under that kind of pressure. OEL is the perfect way to relieve that pressure and see the best out of Chychrun.

Yep. Who wears the "C" is overated. Leaders lead regardless of formal appointment or circumstance.

I wonder of OEL would be more agreeable to a move now that Chychrun has surpassed him as #1.
Hope not. Not sure if it was getting rid of Stepan, or not playing as many TOI, or Chick upping his game, but OEL is having a great year, as good as Chick. I think both help each other as other teams can't focus on just OEL.

I'm trying to understand the relevance of xGF% since Dvo leads the team in goals and Fischer has zero. :dunno:

I think OEL is still capable of playing 22-23 minutes a night like Chychrun is. I doubt either will be at 25 minutes with having both on the team.

But right now I only think OEL is overpaid by like 1M. It could get ugly near the end, but the cap will also go up once Covid is done. Our D would be horrible next season not bringing him back.
I agree. Having both gives us a great foundation going forward.

We get out shot almost every game, so nothing new there. We change players, but still get the same result, and that is with the young kids playing at that next level. When does management start to point fingers at RT?
