Yep and you have many posters here that thought Yzerman was the second coming of Christ! Lol

As fundamentally flawed as their rebuild is, it was incredibly annoying seeing them go on that late season run while this supposedly more talented team can't string 3 wins together

Ullmark low key solid performance with a .950

Preds and NYI are "winnable" games
For what it's worth with this team but probably the easiest 3 games of the season on paper
(make it 4 with Anaheim if you will)

I wonder if the pizza line got into the dressing room before the game for a little motivational speech. What might they have said?

Stop sucking so much.

You guys play like ass when you give up the first goal. Don't do that.

We're all old as f*** and we could still outskate you bums.

You should be ashamed to use sit in the same stall that I did

50 in 07, bitches.

Whatever they did or didn't say.... Glad the guys figured out how to win the game.

Please sir, can I have some more?

Gaudette should never have been taken off the top-6. Greig literally neutralizes every play he's involved in.

WEW NORRIS!
Was going to post this.
It’s about time chuk norris bathtime was reunited but why split up stutzle gaudette??

Stupid

One of the top goal scorers/60 and you have him buried on the fourth line.
He played 8mins tonight and we needed a goal badly. Could have easily lost that one.

Stating the obvious here, but Norris and Batherson were so good tonight.

Ullmark seems to have found his groove.

Another game with no secondary scoring… this is a major concern. Might be able to survive this home stand with minimal contributions, but we’re gonna be screwed during the Western road trip if some of these guys don’t start putting pucks in the net.

Not signing wasn’t his fault.

Not giving full effort during his time here (which he openly admitted to) is definitely something he did wrong.
Exactly. The guy acted like he never wanted to be here at all (he probably didn't), but he pretty much gave no effort whatsoever, and then flat out admitted he was lazy with Ottawa. We were in the middle of a playoff push, and that loser thought it was acceptable to be lazy.

He also clearly hated Canada and didn't even attempt to say anything nice about it. Just a shit attitude all around.

I don't really care at this point, but he sure did seem pretty pouty for a dude hauling in like 6+ mil a season at the time.

Happy with the win.

It's clear the offense still needs some work --these guys dominate play quite a bit but seem unable to convert that into goals reliably. I'd prefer 3-4 goals per game consistently instead of 1-2 and the odd game with 7.

People have different temperaments. Same with athletes. If Mark Borowiecki was as skilled as Alex Debrincat, he'd have as many goals as Ovechkin. If Alex Debrincat was as skilled as Mark Borowiecki, his career would have peaked in house league. Such is life.

You can't teach someone to want to push themselves. You can incentivize it to an extent. But people are mostly born with it.

The new lines hindered stutzle and still don’t help pinto.
There just aren't enough players to arrange the lines in a fashion that creates any scoring depth. Giroux's decline has really hurt the viability of even having two scoring lines. Then add in Pinto's struggles.

Lots of teams have a complementary guy or two who can play higher up the lineup than they normally should, just strictly based on talent. That's what Mike Amadio was for Vegas - he wasn't really used as a 'bottom-6' forward the way the Senators have tried to utilize him. Mostly he played as support for Smith/Karlsson or Stephenson/Stone and that's where the majority of his scoring came from. I don't know exactly what Staios had in mind when he signed this guy, but I think we're seeing that it's probably not going to work as a traditional depth forward.

They tried Greig up the lineup and that didn't work. Then in a fit of desperation they tried Gaudette but that was never going to last, for obvious reasons. If he were ever available, Perron probably would have gotten a spin up there too.

Just seems like no matter how you cook it up, somebody who isn't capable of carrying a line is being asked to do it.
