No one is blaming the guy for getting paid, but there are obviously going to be much higher expectations going forward. As in he needs to consistently be top 2 goalie in the league when he hasn’t been through many stretches.

"Stretches" indicates sample sizes. Guys don't get paid for "stretches" they get paid for body of work and Igor's body of work in the NHL is stellar, especially when you quantify just how f***ing bad the nyr defense has been and still is.
