If one of Vegas, Vancouver or Calgary is guaranteed to win the Cup, who are you picking?

I would pick Vegas every time. f*** Vancouver and Calgary.

People are feeling sympathetic towards Calgary now because they aren't good. I remember the arrogance of their fanbase, especially when the Oilers cleaned their clocks in 2022.

Vegas is new found hate; whereas, Calgary has been a lifetime of hate.

Shirts off for Kipprusoff. It was wild how it all unfolded after they beat Detroit. Everything just funneled down to 17th. There was a limo that drove by and two girls were topless out the sunroof. We were like wholly shit...better go down there.

Ya their fanbase is trash for the most part and extremely obnoxious. I saw the same.
Their fan base is as fair weather as it gets.

You barely know this city has a NHL team when they suck

I would choose Vegas in a heart beat. 0 questions asked! Most of my hatred of Vegas is from the fact that it's so easy for them to attract free agents for mininal cost. That, and they abuse the LTIR so that they can load up for the playoffs every spring.

We'd never hear the end of insufferable Canucks or Flames fans if their team was to win. I don't really care who wins the cup each year as long as it's not the Flames, Canucks, or Leafs.

C'mon Podz... I want 4!
Hockey is so unique. Don't score for years across 44 games and then score 3 games in a row. When you lose that virginity go hard..heh
Definitely one of my most hated teams. I think I hate the Knights and Canucks more than the Flames personally. With the Canucks its more of their fan base though. I hate everything about the Knights.
Flames and Nucks easy and it goes beyond hockey. I dislike AV's even more than Vegas. I'm old school and so what McCrimmon set up theere is standard issue Western Canada approach to hockey. I don't hate that. I was born and raised with it. Theres plenty of Saskatchewan in Kelly McCrimmon. I more than recognize the formula in Vegas.

Its fine to respect Iginla (he was a fine player) but a true Oilers fan isnt confused about his allegiance.
Im old school in that regard.
Allegiance just isnt transferable to the Oilers longest running rival.

Its a little like a Liverpool supporter cheering for Man U.
This, I understand the hate for Vegas and the Canucks but it’s a more recent development.
My ire for the Flames goes back decades, they will always remain my #1 most hated team.

For most of Nucks existence it was hard to manufacture any hate for them and we never played them in playoffs for the longest time. But half the time it was laughter, and not hate.

I hated them in 2011. Asshole players like Kesler, Lapierre, and Burrows. Of course their fairweather fanbase cemented the hate even more with their arrogance. After that, they were quiet for awhile until last season. Then we got dipshits like these that make it 100% impossible to ever want to cheer for the nucks.

f*** that dumb kid.

It made beating them in the playoffs so much more sweeter after the "hahaha, you lost to us 4-0 in regular seasonnnnn."

I don't, and it's for a simple reason. The Knights will do anything to win. We may complain about it but I'd love if the Oilers were as cutthroat and dirty in their dealings as the Knights. If you aren't good enough you're gone. A loophole to exploit? Go all in.

Needless to say this is an enormous game if we want to have any chance of catching them for the division lead
. Bet they're pretty sore about getting waxed by Utah....
The division race isn't over because a team has a 7 point lead with 57 games left in the season lol.

Division games against contenders are always big but it's not THAT big at this early juncture.
With that said, just go win the thing Oilers.

I don't like any of these "We were on pace/we were behind by x" posts

Teams don't go on 16 game winning streaks every year
From the start of December last year the Oilers played at about .700 hockey. That's a ridiculously good pace that I'm not sure they can replicate this year. I don't know why it's such a hot take to view this as a critical game. Keep in mind that the Oilers have yet to do their usual death march through the likes of the Florida teams, Carolina, Philadelphia, et al. Oh and those auto-loss games in Minnesota.
Well, they didn't start 5-13 this season either.

The division race isn't over if they lose tonight in an early December game.
