Morrow was outstanding tonight, no way Julien can take him out of the lineup.

I just don't see it yet. He really has to work on his passing when breaking out. Too soft and off target.
One of the reasons they were stuck in mud half the game is because he and c. Miller couldn't execute simple passes with and mustard or accuracy.
Near every decent breakout they had was either Krug or one of the forwards coming way deep in their own zone to get the puck.
I still hope the best for him, and he's silky smooth at times, but for being a puck moving d man, his first pass needs a tonne of work.

Hayes played a bit over 7 minutes. Claude must be texting to Sweeney from the bench to waive him.

Carlo is so impressive. I feel more confident and comfortable with him than I do any other Bruins D at the moment. Kid is only 20. Unreal.

Just in from the game

The first 59 min were a bit dull...

Dobby was great..

from Wally on the GDT..."Its a lack of talent.

Clode will be fired sooner or later because all coaches end up that way.
But if anyone here thinks it will make much difference......lots of luck with that."

I still like the coach and so do the players. Lack of talent is the problem.

Some of the young players will develop and hopefully some good chemistry will make this team better.

I will take the win.

Watching tonight's game was exactly like watching the Canes play the Habs two weeks ago and again last week. They love to clog the neutral zone. They take everything that is exciting about hockey out of it. Speed, passing and anything resembling a hockey play, all get flushed out of the game. A friend of mine went to the game last time they played the Habs and he literally feel asleep. His buddies who went to the game with him posted it on facebook for all to share a laugh at his expense.

It's very frustrating to watch tis type of game. It makes every player look like he's bad at hockey. The reality is the Canes are bad at hockey so they have to play this way , it's the only chance they have.

If I have to watch Krejci on 1 more PP , I'm gonna strangle someone.

What does this CS see from him on the point that they keep rolling him out there. They've finally removed Chara from the PP this season now its time for #46 to get some extra rest on the bench during PP's .

But who do you replace him with? It's not like Colin is doing anything positive on PP2.

Thanks for the kicks Mr. Teuvo Teravainen! LOL

Great effort by Krug to get the tying goal though. It was a product of hard work and stick-to-it-tive-ness! Yes that's a real word! ;)

In OT Khudobin and Pastrnak deserve the credits for getting us the full 2 points!

While Krug is coming up, I'd like to know what the **** people want out of the guy...

He is perpetually criticized no matter what he does. Sorry that the 5'9" offensive Dman is not the defensive wizard you're apparently looking for. I understand the guy makes mistakes, but he receives a ridiculously unfair amount of criticism IMO. I want him on my team all day long.

Star of the game was Khudobin...WOW. I'll admit I was a little nervous when I saw the Giant Penguin waddle out first. (Yes, I know "penguin" is another team, and nobody else calls him that, but that's my nickname for him just like how I call Clode potatohead. For some reason, he reminds me of a penguin when he's on the ice.)

Some really amazing saves on Khudobin's part...I'm glad he got a W under his belt, because I wasn't all that impressed with his first couple of games. Looks like everyone's tossing monkeys.

But man, that was a tough game to watch. Our forwards have to be better and DO SOMETHING. When the other team has zero goals or one goal...those are games that the your goalie is trying to give to you for free. Especially against a team that's less than a powerhouse like Carolina.

We didn't deserve that win. (Or, as I'd say, "We didn't deserve the tie", because I don't believe in shootouts.) Yes, I'll take it in retribution for the times we didn't win despite deserving it. But I'd really like to start winning AND playing like we should win.

I'm all for having an intermission in the Jimmy Hayes Experience. We need to shuffle the Backes/Krejci line up, and maybe shuffle Hayes out for a night. It shouldn't be that hard to do once Acciari and Vatrano come back.

Unpopular opinion time: I can't get excited for this win after how poor the first 55 or so minutes were. Nothing inspired any confidence in me, besides pasta, that this team is going anywhere, especially not with this coaching staff.

I really think I'll go back and read your comments after the Philly game Tuesday.
Everyone has a right to their own opinion but it's not like this is the way Bruins play every game. They dominated Philly and lost, maybe that took something out of them going into this one. But what shows on paper is a 2-1 win for the Bruins.

But yes, it was a frustrating game to watch without a doubt. But all the frustration I had was gone once A cane kicked it in his own net. How many games have we lost because Mcquaid put it in his own net. He scored 1 goal each of the last 3 seasons and maybe 15 in his own net,,Really wish I had the proper stats on that. But it works both ways. Ask Rask how many goals were scored{just this season} on him by his own players, whether it be deflections or kicked in.

Our defence played a great game especially without Chara and Liles. I don't know what 2 comes out when they return. Almost certain Morrow will be in the pressbox. BUT if one player deserves to stay in, it's without a doubt Morrow. The more he plays, the better he looks. He's FINALLY getting a chance to show what he has and if Julien takes him out when Chara returns, what does that do to his confidence?? Please PLEASE keep Morrow in the lineup. When we traded Seguin to Dallas, I said back then that Morrow is the best return we got but it'll take awhile. He WAS a 1st round pick by Pittsburgh back in 2011. Give him a chance to prove I'm right. Don't kill his momentum by taking him out and keeping Mcquaid or Kevan M in the lineup.
Right now, Morrow is our 3rd best defender in my opinion. I'd even play him over Liles any time..

Good win. Bruins never get much luck on their side. Great win and great job by Julien to get the team rolling in 3rd and this time he picked the right ones for the SO. If that was the ones he picked against Philly, we'd have a 3 game winning streak. But I'll take 5 of a possible 6 pts..

Wife and I were at the game as well and I hope Julien doesn't get fired but they always blame the coach. Yeah it was a very sloppy game they don't seem to gel together the PP is horrid. The most impressive player was Doby, and Carlo plays like he is a 10 year vet rather than a rookie.

There is 9 teams in the nhl that are better than 3 games over 500

We fans are allowed to say the team is sluggish but there's a lot of parity in the nhl.

We know bergeron krecji krug rask chara have all been hurt now... injuries are part of reality but they do hurt teams with shallow depth. That's reality.

Personally I never for 1 second thought we were a cup contender this year but I see more potential than I thought. We need a couple of upgrades and every one needs to get healthy but this team is clearly better defensively th a we thought

Defense is hard work and system... so the team clearly hasn't tuned Claude out

Honestly we had that 3-4 game losing streak when rask was hurt and are like 13-6-1 when he's healthy

Things don't suck as much as people want to pretend here in these game threads

Sometimes other teams do good things when there is parity

Without a doubt, this is the best post I have read anywhere since the season began. Thanks brother, a lot of us needed to hear this, especially after all the negativity tonight..

I was thinking the same thing ,early in the 1st period when I saw 4 of their players converge on Marchand at the red line and Brad just gave the puck away . The Bruins aren't as bad as they looked tonight .

Chara-Krug-Carlo-K.Miller-Morrow-Liles-C. Miller-McQuaid would be my order... but we almost agree.

What should be obvious to all is that Morrow has played better than either himself or Colin has played in their careers thus far. He deserves to be in the lineup. I'd keep Colin in, too, when Chara is back, but, I'm not going to call for Clode's head if that isn't the case.

YES YES YES, Morrow should stay in the line up. His time is now..He waited patiently for this moment , to be a regular. Drafted by Pens in the 1st round of 2011, and still only 24, he's proving each game why is was a 1st rounder. Alot of defencemen, unlike forwards, don't begin their NHL career until they're good and ready. I believe his time has come. He's proving every game he belongs where is right now.

They have to fix the PP for one thing, we don't get that many PP chances to begin with, but when we do they have to make them count and start scoring some goals, last night the PP was brutal. Sacco and Julien must be insane, because they keep doing the same things over and over expecting different results. Marchand and especially Pastrnak should be on the #1 unit, how can you not have your top sniper not on the top PP? I really would like to see Sacco let go and get some maybe Oates who can run a PP and get the offense going as well.

And just like that, the Bruins are 3rd in the Atlantic.

As mediocre as they are, they won't go away.
It would be easy to curl up and die, but they're battling.

It's not pretty, but they're scraping some points together and there's something to be said for that.
If you want to blame Clode for the negative, he deserves some kudos for the positive here as well.

People will look at his height/weight and forever be convinced he stinks at defending.

That's it really.

His play now in comparison to mid-October is like night and day.

So glad we won.

But kinda funny, last year D was the problem, this year it's working great without the big expensive reinforcements that most of us wished for, quite a switch. Now the offense seems to be having problems but shots are there and they will go in eventually and we're getting Vatrano under the christmas tree.
