ugly goal to even get us into the game but whatever.

Easy to sit and complain about the forwards (like I did this entire game)

but goddamn I am proud/impressed with how well our D looks minus Chara. Take the #1 D off most teams and they suffer greatly. The D structure we play looks very solid and credit does go to Clode for that.

You also lose Liles, our D units have stepped up big. Not always pretty and Anton did have to make some really good saves but you gotta be happy with how our D have played...did not expect this good of a showing taking out Chara and Liles.

Krug 28 minutes DAMNNNNN

I want Morrow still on this team when Chara comes back, he should NOT see the pressbox. He looked good again. Really the only games he looked bad/iffy were the ones he was paired with K.Miller coming back from injury.

So happy for Anton!!! He deserved it.

I even as a noted Kevan disliker, I'll give him credit, he's been pretty friggin' solid the since the last three games, a few times him and Carlo got criss-crossed with Kevan playing his off-side, but nothing glaring.

I'm still somewhat amazed that overall the D hasn't been a major issue for this team. As a group 1 through 8 they have been greater than the sum of their parts.

Meanwhile, what many thought was the strength of this team (scoring/forwards) has been an absolute black-hole for a whole host of reasons.

Unpopular opinion time: I can't get excited for this win after how poor the first 55 or so minutes were. Nothing inspired any confidence in me, besides pasta, that this team is going anywhere, especially not with this coaching staff.

They have to switch the lines up . They really can't be this bad offensively, can they ? They are in a tremendous dry spell offensively but overall, I have been impressed with the D this year . We could get better .

Morrow was outstanding tonight, no way Julien can take him out of the lineup.

Right now McQuaid is the one who should sit.

But as Krug's partner it's not happening, so Colin will sit, even though both he and Morrow have been good, Claude is definitely itching to get back to his beloved LD-RD set-up, so that should give Morrow the edge.

Defense is a 5 man effort. I've been a Spooner booster, but making the bottom 6 defensively responsible has done WONDERS for the D.

That and replacing Seidenberg with someone who can move the puck.

Its good thing they got 2 pts, looks like everyone else in the east tonight made a comeback or is winning. Even a few 3 pts games, our old nemisis. Cannot afford to play that bad for 58 minutes and win one like that against good teams.

Well he changed his SO lineup that's a start, I guess. I still believe this team opens up offensively with another voice behind the bench.

There is 9 teams in the nhl that are better than 3 games over 500

We fans are allowed to say the team is sluggish but there's a lot of parity in the nhl.

We know bergeron krecji krug rask chara have all been hurt now... injuries are part of reality but they do hurt teams with shallow depth. That's reality.

Personally I never for 1 second thought we were a cup contender this year but I see more potential than I thought. We need a couple of upgrades and every one needs to get healthy but this team is clearly better defensively th a we thought

Defense is hard work and system... so the team clearly hasn't tuned Claude out

Honestly we had that 3-4 game losing streak when rask was hurt and are like 13-6-1 when he's healthy

Things don't suck as much as people want to pretend here in these game threads

Sometimes other teams do good things when there is parity

Encouraging play from Morrow and C. Miller on the third pair. If they can keep it going a trade for an expensive defenseman is unlikely.

I'd be lying if I said it didn't have an positive impact.

In particular, as much as I rag on the JAG Riley Nash, having 4 capable two-way centers is a boon to this team in it's own end.

As encouraging as it is, one of them is coming out of the line-up when Chara returns.

And as much as I'd like to see McQuaid moved, how can they do that with Liles out possibly for quite awhile, and not bring a D-man back?

I'd say the D group minus Liles is the D group we'll see for awhile.

Nash looked terrible in his own zone this game. He looked bad in the Calgary game. I wish I was able to save video footage easily but so many instances he was weak along boards, weak on puck, flat out lost battles, losing his man, throwing pucks away all in bruins own zone. It's a weird myth that he is some great defensive player. I don't see it...he is such a bland/vanilla player.

I do like him on PK and don't mind him on 4th line...Clode needs to ease up and get him back there. Don't like him on ice in final 2 minutes of 1 goal games (where we are trying to score) or on the ice with under a minute in 3vs3 OT.

Gotta figure out something with the third line.

Yep, once again coaches fail to score goals.

Nash really isn't that good on the PK either. He's always scrambling.

I agree but it is seen as being anti bruin if you believe that and that's sad. The one side will never convince me and I will not convince them, big deal. Gotta say I like the back and forth banter, just keep it civil. I am not hiding, too old to run and I have seen too many bad games the last 3 years to let it slide. Been a fan way longer then Claude knew he was going coach and a fan longer then he will be here. He has done a lot of good but times have changed and it is getting closer and closer. We all want the same thing but in different ways. Thats what being a fan is all about being passionate about what you interpret in your own eyes. You can predict what some people will say when someone they do like does something and I am guilty of that. If Claude changes his ways I will come around but I will not hold my breathe. I want to see the future core get a chance to develop like this one did and not run this one into the ground before handing it over properly

It was good that the Bruins got the win, especially for Khudobin. It would be nice though if Claude switched up the lines. The Bruins' 5 vs 5 game has been non-existent.

Whoda thought that it would be the defense and the goaltending keeping this team afloat and scoring goals would be the serious difficulty.

If i had an extra room Id adopt Pasta.

I wonder if he wants to date my daughter.

From one 'wackadoo' to another I can relate. My daughter worked for the City at the arena's during High School. Sweeping up and changing the nets for the Zambonis during Niagara Icedog games. I told her then Hamilton was Bruins property and she is a Bruins fan too. So as Captain Picard said "Make it so" well it did not happen, all for the better I guess. Still it was a retirement dream. How he turned out she would have been pissed at him and probably gone all Hope Solo on him.

Judging on quality of play: Chara-Carlo-Krug-Morrow-K.Miller-Liles-C.Miller-Mcquaid.

That should be the D order in terms of how they have played and in what order they should sit.

Not saying Morrow should be a top 4 D in terms of minutes but in terms of how he has played, that's how I see the depth chart and who should be in and out.

I'll be disappointed if after the stretch of games he's had, they put him back in the pressbox. He deserves a chance at consistent minutes, time to actually get comfortable and see what we got.

Give me Morrow's skating and transition game AND D over C.Miller's missing shots and brain farts (Hope he fixes that and pans out)

Chara-Krug-Carlo-K.Miller-Morrow-Liles-C. Miller-McQuaid would be my order... but we almost agree.

What should be obvious to all is that Morrow has played better than either himself or Colin has played in their careers thus far. He deserves to be in the lineup. I'd keep Colin in, too, when Chara is back, but, I'm not going to call for Clode's head if that isn't the case.
