Awesome game to attend this evening.

Kings looked like absolute **** in that first period. But for anyone who has been around hockey knows, games shift quite easily...especially when you have a guy like Sutter planting wingtips into guy's *****.

Never saw hats go on the ice so fast in a game...doesn't get better than a hat trick on lame hat giveaway night...

Voynov is a ****ing stud. Three assists. Someone is getting paid this summer, that's for sure.

One more thing: Fraser's pass was out of this world. And yes, I believe he knew exactly what he was doing.

Didn't Richards have a similar hot streak like this before cooling off ice cold last season? As much as I'm enjoying Carter's success, eventually, he will come back down to earth.

Hope I'm wrong on this one though.

Remember when Cammy had 10g in 10gp. Was on pace for the epic 82g, 0a, 82pt season :yo:

He will come back, but hopefully somebody else will pick up the slack. Richards and Carter look they are refinding their PHI days chemistry.

All the advanced stats said the Kings would recover and be alright, now we are seeing the results, IMO. Hopefully the Kings can get hot (or continue to be hot if we forget the game in VAN, which we all should) and seperate themselves from this ridiculous pack. The shortened nature of this season has me a little scared TBH, would like to see the Kings get 5-7 points clear of this pack of teams. Not that MIN-DAL-NSH are all THAT scary, but still...

They only played together in Philly for the 2010 playoffs and only the CHI series plus 1 game vs Montreal. Before that they centred their own lines and after that Carter played RW with Giroux as the centre.

Meh, my bad. Anyways, they look comfortable together right now.

Had my own game last night so I only saw the highlights, but I'm loving the end result (despite what everyone is saying about the start). I also think getting a hat trick on hat night is one of the best things ever. Didn't someone call that in the GDT? I'll have to go back and look.

Edit: nm a couple people called it on the Kings' instagram

Great win Great game all around.

So is it safe to retire the panic thread for awhile?

Having AMart back sure looked good.

Muzzin looked good.

I agree. He is still making the odd mistake here and there, but he has been much more aggressive and physical. This call-up has been great for his career. Muzzin is becoming confident in believing that he belongs in the NHL.

Our 4th line is amazing. I'm starting to believe that Clifford-Fraser-Nolan is our 3rd and King-Stoll-Lewis is our 4th lol

I'm glad I woke up half way through period 2, the people in my section elbowed me because I was snoring after that start.

Great win, but is there any other team nowadays that's as boring as Nashville? They aren't really that offensively challenged, yet they play an incredibly structured system that squashes any amount of creativity they have from guys like Erat, Legwand, and Hornqvist. They have other guys like Wilson, Fisher, and Bourque who can put the puck in the net, but they rarely get the chance. When the Kings were breaking out the first 2 periods, all 5 preds were usually in the neutral zone already in a circle, slowly backing off. Once in the defensive zone, it was block and collapse, flip it out and go get it. Such a snoozefest.

They. Block. Everything. And if they miss one, they get a stick in the lane or deflect it. That's great defense and all, but it seems it's all they focus on. It really reminds me of the Andy Murray counter-punch strategy later in his tenure, where it's completely reliant on the other team making a mistake and capitalizing. We were on the other end of last night more than a few times in that era.

At the risk of sounding to negative I'll limit this post. Kings played terrrrrrible for 45 mins...

VV/Skuds pairing was quite bad imo....VV just got those breaks that led to him getting 3 assists. (though VV put in a large chunk of mins)

Muzzin was the best player on the ice not named Carter tonite.

Nashville does a great job fore checking and getting sticks in the lanes. The Kings were having a tough time getting passes up ice. I also think the ice was not good because the puck was bouncing all over the place. When you play and you don't have confidence in the ice its hard to have vision and stick handle at the same time. In the offensive zone it is not a problem if you turn the puck over but in the defensive zone you don't have that luxury. Defenseman on both teams were having problems.

The 3rd period is just another case of banging people for 2 periods and wearing the other team out eventually the legs and courage just end. How you can tell is when there is a 50/50 for the puck and the other team slows just enough so the opponent get there first.

It has been a long time since we've had a King represented on a list like this this far into the season...
