Game 20: Kings vs. Predators - 3/4/13 - One Game Win Streak!

Carter's shot percentage is just a hair under 23% for this season, usually he's right around 11-12%... Even in his 46 goal season he only had 13.45%, it's fair to say the way he's going right now is probably unsustainable but I'm sure as hell gonna enjoy it while it lasts :)

Didn't Richards have a similar hot streak like this before cooling off ice cold last season? As much as I'm enjoying Carter's success, eventually, he will come back down to earth.

Hope I'm wrong on this one though.

He took a shoulder to the head. Hopefully Carter will not get a concussion.

can someone PLEASE tell me if that bacon in n out burger that Puck U posted in the GDT with the animal style fries and ripped up burgers and BBQ sauce was real or not????????????????????????????????

Not the greatest effort by the Kings. They will have to be much better against St. Louis tomorrow night to get a win.

Richards was nearly PPG pre concussion, then struggled after. Not so much cooling off as much as not getting back to form.

Great win Great game all around.

So is it safe to retire the panic thread for awhile?

Having AMart back sure looked good.

Muzzin looked good.

seriously? c'mon

We scored 5 goals and gave up 1. I am gonna save my complaining for when we lose. JB looked good tonight and while we could have done better in some ways it was a great game considering its our 20th game I will take it and be happy.

How has Voynov been performing and what is his position on the teams depth chart?

He has been playing like he was the steal of his draft and one of the top young dmen in the game today.Sound positionally in every zone and picking up assists like they were candy on halloween.

He is a very valuable part of our team. Our D isn't really set up for 1 2 3 type of depth but VV is right up there.

Yeah, those first 40 minutes were pretty bleh, but thank you based Carter for lighting the fire in the boys' bellies in the 3rd. However, with that said though, I think part of the reason the team looked so bad the first two periods was because it was against Nashville. Still doesn't excuse the effort, but I suppose that could be a bit of a justification for their poor first 2 periods.

Also, nothing pisses me off more when a team does a really bad job of clearing their own zone and Kings were guilty of it all game long. Come on guys, we gotta start doing a better job with that.

All that said though, happy we won, really happy for Cartsie and hope to see tonight's 3rd period effort extended to a whole 60 minutes tomorrow.

Probably not, but as you said, we can enjoy it while it lasts. He is now tied for 2nd in the NHL in goals. Probably won't happen, but if he kept up the pace, he would be looking at a 34 goal season during a lockout year. Pretty insane start for him.

How has Voynov been performing and what is his position on the teams depth chart?

He has been our most steady and reliable defenseman this year, and our best offensive defenseman. To the Kings, he'd be our 2nd most valuable defenseman behind Doughty, and he run the second pairing/powerplay unit.

Thats awesome, I remember he had a real solid rookie season plus he is player with plenty of upside. Good thing I picked him up (and Carter) in my fantasy league and dropped Petro/Perron lol.

For as poorly as it may seem we played at the start of the game we played better than the Preds and they aren't exactly the worst team in the league.

I thought we played alright considering we were yet again bringing a new Dman onto the team and while A Mart is very good he was rusty and had his moments. That effects everyone all the way through the roster. It effects line changes, it effects timing for his D partner and the forwards on the ice when he steps out there and on and on.

A mart pulled it all together as the game went on and the team kept working hard until we put it all together. Overall great game all things considered. We won by four goals. That equals a great game to me. Especially when JB goes out and has that solid of an effort *again*, silencing his detractors.

Yeah at least Carter is shooting. Kopitar has 29 shots in 19 games and an unsustainable 20.9%, no matter how you slice it that's pretty bad for a 1st line center, heck Sedin and Thornton shoot more than that and Kopitar isn't exactly a playmaking first, second and third center or at least he shouldn't be.

Sounds like you have a stacked team but I know nothing about fantasy hockey at all.

Best of luck to you.;)
