15 different angles of Coyle's goal.
ummm okay.Sweeney and Sway are total p***yes we all know that.
The Swayman situation didn’t help but it’s not on him solely . How do you explain Pasta , E Lindholm, McAvoy, Carlo sucking so bad ? Is Swayman responsible for them playing so badly ?Well I see he told Ty Anderson he's gonna step up so that's nice cause he's the elephant in the room.
There's lots of little things wrong with this team but a lot of them are the same things as last year just magnified. The real difference is the goaltending. Last year we had elite goaltending. Last year we would probably have come out of that first period undeservingly leading 1-0. This team has always played better with a lead and is simply not built for comebacks. Early saves held us in games and then we'd get a bounce and win. This year, he simply is not making many big saves and is inconsistent or even shit.
One could say Swayman broke this hockey team. The negotiation affected the mindset like Neely has suggested and he got the money and he is not delivering. One team had elite goaltending tonight, but it wasn't us. It hasn't been us on any night Swayman's played.
Face it, right now, if he was not the 8 million dollar man he'd be on his way to Providence and we'd be giving Bussi a shot. He most definitely would not be the main starter as Korpisalo has been much better (and he's only average NHL level). I generally don't dump on goalies, but if you look at last year and this year that's the biggest difference and the team as whole no longer has thew swagger great goaltending gives you.
Sure, you can argue that it's Sweeney's fault but in the end, Swayman got the money and has to live up to it and he isn't. In hindsight keeping Ullmark and trading Swayman would have been better. Trading Ullmark and then trading the hold out Swayman for a top notch forward and giving him the money would have been better.
Right now I wouldn't care if they waived Swayman and brought up Bussi. If some other team wants to claim that huge contract for nothing let them. We can use the money on a good forward for next year.
Swayman has broken this hockey team.
Rick DiPietro comes to mind...He better not be Jim Carey 2.0 .He has to figure this out you are not buying him out or trading him
... this crap hockey just sucks the fandom right out of you ...
Why shit on Chiarelli, he actually BUILT a Stanley Cup Winning Team FFS.It would be a time like this where Chiarelli would trade a 1st round pick for Ryan Spooner..........
Sometime back during that fiasco (the signing) I said that the Bruins and Sweeney could be a "cautionary tale." I pray that I'm wrong!Remember when we traded Raycroft after being a great rookie? Yeah, we're living through the timeline where we signed him long term to a big money deal instead. Paying unproven goalies is so monumentally STUPID. We will be a teaching lesson for the rest of the league to not do what we did.
He's the goalie, so I would say yes. I mean if Monty is being blamed for their suckage, why not the goalie? The Swayman situation didn’t help but it’s not on him solely . How do you explain Pasta , E Lindholm, McAvoy, Carlo sucking so bad ? Is Swayman responsible for them playing so badly ?
Retirements and no replacements broke this teamThe Florida Panthers broke this hockey team.
Hyman be thereSweeney is going to load up Team Canada with basically Crosby, McDavid, MacKinnon, and Makar, then add a pile of two-way grinding forwards and soft lanky D-men.
Retirements and no replacements broke this team
I remember Carey shutting out the Canadians in his 1st game in goal for Boston.Rick DiPietro comes to mind...
And he's not going anywhere. We're bad.
But can you imagine how bad we would be without Jeremy Swayman?
Whew! Did we ever dodge a bullet
Injuries took him down in legs ,and groin if memory correctRick DiPietro comes to mind...
They should make the players and coaches watch this game over and over and over for 12 hours straight .......without eating or bathroom breaks
One of the BRUINS' biggest issues is the guy who's answering the question.Marchand was asked what the Bruins biggest issue is. This was his reply...
"It starts with our compete level. I think it always starts with your compete level. In this league, you have to have the highest ‘compete’ every night if you want to be a good team. We have it throughout periods of a game, we have it at times, and when we do we’re good… We have to understand what our identity is and play to that, and we’re yet to do that for a full 60 minute game."
Last Cup they got he put it together though & for that he always has a place in my heartIt would be a time like this where Chiarelli would trade a 1st round pick for Ryan Spooner..........
Well, after those negotiations Swayman could use a little humility.Remember when we traded Raycroft after being a great rookie? Yeah, we're living through the timeline where we signed him long term to a big money deal instead. Paying unproven goalies is so monumentally STUPID. We will be a teaching lesson for the rest of the league to not do what we did.
