Well I see he told Ty Anderson he's gonna step up so that's nice cause he's the elephant in the room.

There's lots of little things wrong with this team but a lot of them are the same things as last year just magnified. The real difference is the goaltending. Last year we had elite goaltending. Last year we would probably have come out of that first period undeservingly leading 1-0. This team has always played better with a lead and is simply not built for comebacks. Early saves held us in games and then we'd get a bounce and win. This year, he simply is not making many big saves and is inconsistent or even shit.

One could say Swayman broke this hockey team. The negotiation affected the mindset like Neely has suggested and he got the money and he is not delivering. One team had elite goaltending tonight, but it wasn't us. It hasn't been us on any night Swayman's played.

Face it, right now, if he was not the 8 million dollar man he'd be on his way to Providence and we'd be giving Bussi a shot. He most definitely would not be the main starter as Korpisalo has been much better (and he's only average NHL level). I generally don't dump on goalies, but if you look at last year and this year that's the biggest difference and the team as whole no longer has thew swagger great goaltending gives you.

Sure, you can argue that it's Sweeney's fault but in the end, Swayman got the money and has to live up to it and he isn't. In hindsight keeping Ullmark and trading Swayman would have been better. Trading Ullmark and then trading the hold out Swayman for a top notch forward and giving him the money would have been better.

Right now I wouldn't care if they waived Swayman and brought up Bussi. If some other team wants to claim that huge contract for nothing let them. We can use the money on a good forward for next year.

Swayman has broken this hockey team.
The Swayman situation didn’t help but it’s not on him solely . How do you explain Pasta , E Lindholm, McAvoy, Carlo sucking so bad ? Is Swayman responsible for them playing so badly ?

Remember when we traded Raycroft after being a great rookie? Yeah, we're living through the timeline where we signed him long term to a big money deal instead. Paying unproven goalies is so monumentally STUPID. We will be a teaching lesson for the rest of the league to not do what we did.

It would be a time like this where Chiarelli would trade a 1st round pick for Ryan Spooner..........
Why shit on Chiarelli, he actually BUILT a Stanley Cup Winning Team FFS.
Look at all of the 1st and 2nd round picks that Sweeney has traded away for
(what turns out) junk.

Sometime back during that fiasco (the signing) I said that the Bruins and Sweeney could be a "cautionary tale." I pray that I'm wrong!
Starting to feel like a management killer.

Marchand was asked what the Bruins biggest issue is. This was his reply...

"It starts with our compete level. I think it always starts with your compete level. In this league, you have to have the highest ‘compete’ every night if you want to be a good team. We have it throughout periods of a game, we have it at times, and when we do we’re good… We have to understand what our identity is and play to that, and we’re yet to do that for a full 60 minute game."

One of the BRUINS' biggest issues is the guy who's answering the question.

Well, after those negotiations Swayman could use a little humility.
