They care about image and liability.

The list of teams that would know about this would be very very small.

Does it make you feel better? Justify it all you like. If I remember correctly, the Leafs played in those years and COULDN'T do it. They haven't done it in half a century during a full season, shortened season, strike season, with the WHL, with the merger. Actually, we need to reduce the league to 6 teams for the Leafs to win. If we do that, you have leg to stand on.
