He should see extra opportunities to put pucks on net playing with Cogs and Koivu though. The speed of Cogliano driving the middle really backs the D off and creates little pockets for Koivu to distribute the puck to Winnik coming in high or wide. I think it's a really good fit for Winnik to put up a career year type pace.

Koivu has been as good as ive seen him on the Ducks. Almost wish we could use him with the 2nd line but obviously you dont want to mess up what the 3rd line has developed.

Question. Does Holland posses a cycling game in the offensive zone? I don't recall ever seeing him do that.

Ok we're 2-0. A win is a win in my opinion. Now on Friday night in anaheim we need to be alive!! I'm sure there is going to be a ton of Canucks, but who cares.. We need a live atmosphere on Friday, plain and simple!! Our team deserves it, get loud Anaheim!!

Wtf is going on with Ryan? Coming into this season I was expecting him to pot 30 in 48 games. I was looking for a huge breakout...not getting it. Still don't like what DSP is bringing. Palmieri is ****ing sick. Rakell has really nice skills, and it's going to be a tough decision whether or not to send him back to Plymouth. Bonino is solid defensively, but I think he's better suited for a 4th line C role. Would like to see Holland get a chance between Bobby and Teemu

Keep it up, Captain :)

There was a lot of piss poor play going around tonight but now that you mention it I think Souray probably qualifies for the 2nd spot.

Let's go with that so the rumors of Vatanen playing the home opener go wild. :D
According to our Finnish friend, he is going to play all of our minutes next game.

Once he gets more comfortable offensively at this level, you'll see him try to get more creative off the cycle. One of his best attributes is recognizing when to walk hard to the net off the cycle and unleash his great snap shot. It takes a confident player to see these opportunities and react quickly enough to take advantage of them, I'm sure Holland will get there soon.

Please stop trying to replace Bonino on the second line. It has been two games, and I dont think he is the reason the second line is playing bad. I think the bigger issue on that line is Selanne and ryan dont play similar games and it is tough for any center to figure it out. Something needs to change with that group, but it is not due to Boninos play, it is their chemistry.

As for Holland, I love his game but he was not very good when he played in the NHL last year and if he was playing that good in camp dont you think he would be playing right now. Also I would like to see him prove himself on the 4th line (like Getzlaf) prior to promoting him.

This would be really a stretch(and not my preference), but if you really want to roll 4 lines.

Palmieri-Getz-Perry
Winnick-Koivu-Cogliano
Beleskey-Bonino-Selanne

Once again, why are you giving Rakell the shaft? He's been better than Bonino. DSP/Bonino are the one's who deserve to be sitting in the press box the most IMO

Does anyone else think Palmieri looks a lot like Morrow when he played with Getz and Perry in the Olympics.

Would be great if he could be that good of a player.

Chemistry may be part of the problem, but it isn't the only part. Bonino really has to pick it up. Being solid in the defensive zone isn't enough. He deserves another game or two, but if Holland comes in strong in the lower lines, Bonino's job is definitely there to lose.

Great thing is that they can score goals, and when second line finds the balance and defence becomes tighter, they will look much better.
We should remember that only 2 games played, they will grow into a great team! :handclap:

I think Rakell has been very good, but remember, he is playing against the 4th line right now. I actually think he has top 6 potential but needs more experience in that role.

He does look great but I think he will be sent down. If not then expect Holland to be sent down or a trade to happen.

Pls put Bobby Ryan's face on the milk carton where Lydman was. Jeebus.

Winnick Fever. Give the man the Rocket Richard Trophy already.

Agreed. Especially when on a line with Ryan and Teemu. I'm expecting points out of whoever that 2C is.
